Just reading this from the above website, but dont know if it was updated, or an issue for people, etc.
_ Quark Tactical
The Quark Tactical series is very similar to the Quark Pro series, but features a forward clicky and a different user interface. The tactical version has only two modes (tightened or loosened), but can have any of the 8 modes of the Pro programmed into those. The tactical models suffer from preflash where sometimes if the light is set to come on in low it will flash very bright when turned on. All of the Quarks have a mild preflash in Moonlight mode where the light flashes to Low before going to Moonlight. _
Thanks for the heads up. I have never noticed that on any of my lights. But wasn’t looking for it. That seems like it would be a bit irritating to say the least. I will have mine in a few days. Guess I will now be looking for that. Which may be or may not be a good thing. lol
Wow! Such a deal! I just ordered one. Thanks for the heads-up.
Pre-flash??? What’s that? Somebody from CPF straining at gnats to say something negative?(See: Remarks about MagLites)
For those who love to run around in their “tactical” BVDs, preparing to withstand an onslaught of…(Pick one)( )Homicidal Psycho Jungle Cats, ( )Marching Zombie Hordes, ( )Aliens among us (See: U.S. Congress) or ( ) Things that Go Slither in the Night, It could be a slight problem, but for the general 99.8673% of us 8) who just want a good, reliable light, This looks like a true “budget” light!
The 4 7s rep for quality and their Warranty seems to remove all doubt!
Best 2xaa light I have ever used/owned. I swapped a 4500k XML into mine, and programmed the modes to my liking and it’s my go-to light. For $30 this is the best 2xaa light you can ever buy.
Darn, I was looking for just such a light and on going there they seem to be out of stock.
Anyone else have them for this price?
They still have the 123 size lights in stock.
I have a Quark 123-2 (2 CR123’s, non tactical because I like tail standing lights the tactical can not tail stand) and the preflash that everyone seems to be bent is the lowest mode (moonlight 0.2 lumes) when it comes on it (flashes) Pulses at around 5-8 lumes for less than 0.125th of a second then drops to the sub lum power rating. If you are being all secret squirl then the clicking of the switch is going to give you away more than the slight “preflash”
I have to say a an EDC light it has replaced the fenix E11. I like it a lot and I am sure that there are at east 100 people that do not own either light and will tell me that I am wrong.
It is nice having a light that can pull off the range that the Quark series of lights manages to do with the quality of the lights they have. 4Sevens has done a great job on a flashlight.
