Driver for 1x CR123

Building a light that will be stored for long periods, which as I understand it is not good for a Li-ion. It will be driving an XP-G2, so needs about 1.5A from my understanding. Will be one mode only, on or off. Needs to be 16/17 mm for use in a P60 pill. Those things I can find in a driver, but I'm not sure about this last one. Primary power source will be 1x CR123, but I would like to be able to use 1x 18650 if needed.

Any recommendations?

I will be using an L2m body so fitting either will not be an issue. Just not sure what driver to use since most seem to cut off at 3.0V which is the rated voltage of a CR123 primary. Seems like light would detect low battery and shut off well before a CR123 was drained. If used, I will only be using protected 18650s so not having low voltage protection in the driver isn't much of an issue, I think...

The AA drivers deliver 1A on 3 V….

I stumbled over an 0.9-4.2V driver recently, I guess it was listed at kaidomain.
Maybe you’re able to stack amc7135 on it, if it uses any.

I got a 0.9-4.2V driver in a Solarforce low voltage XP-G drop in.
The output will be recognisibly higher when powered by li-ion.

I found 2, one is sold out and this one is available in a pack of 5pc.
Plus it is 1A only, as werner already told you.
Maybe it can be resistor modded ?

7135 are buck only so they only work if battery voltage is higher than led voltage…in this case that is not the case so this is no option.

This is a single mode driver I use http://dx.com/s/25505 I put this one in several custom lights and all the folks seem to like them . It may output more than you want. I have 4 left so I have used 12 in lights so far without a problem as yet. I think I used the Nichia 219 LED's but I'd have to look to make sure. Not over the Christmas rush yet in my head!!

That looks promising. Guess the question would be how many amps with 3V. Looking at the specs I'm going to guess around 800mA.

How bright would an XP-G2 be at that? Guess I'll just try it and see. The goal is large patch of light that is fairly blinding out to at least 10 yards. I have a feeling it won't take much amperage to meet my goals.
