It didn’t seem to be quite as bright with the 18650’s but I didn’t put the greatests ones in. Probably some sag involved. I would imagine with a really good set of 18650’s that it would be just as bright.
Well that explains why when I put 20 gauge wire on and used ICR KK 26650’s it was so much brighter. I also de-domed the center emitters so that it had a better throw and the ring really wasn’t bad outside, at least not to my eye. When I sold it I thought it was a great light. But I have a bunch of multi-emitters so I let it go. I wonder what it would have done with 4 Moli cells or the Sony 50a batteries I have now?
after mod the spring for reduce the resistance and test with 5 batteries imr I got 8 amp and the original driver finally get burned
now I must decide what to do, I want run it with 14 leds and 2 batteries in 2s7p configuration but rewire all the leds will be bored and the switch maybe don’t will survive
now I have it with 4 batteries one driver “east-92” and around 4 amp with the leds in the original 5s 3p configuration
for use the east-92 with 5 batteries I think will be necessary add some resistor or the current will be too high
how did you able to take the driver out? it doesn’t have anything for me to unscrew it. it is deep in the pill for me to even pluck it out without breaking the board :~
