why dont someone sell bare cells with no wrapper, then we can wrap them up with what ever brand we like? you want panny 3400s? bam, you got it. want trustfire flames? here ya go. want an ultrafire? whats wrong with you?
Point is that anyone can use Panasonic wrappers on cells then use clear wrapper for holding on the PCM, flatwire etc.
Keeppower does the clear wrapper anyways, so they don't use black only.
They can do various positive contacts so that is not a relevant thing that some clear plastic wrappers are Keeppower or not.
Why is that so hard to believe? If you had to stick the correct labels on cells for the Chinese market could you guarantee not making mistakes?
What matters is that they fix the factors which led to the mistake happening in the first place and improve the clarity of their labelling.
Keeppower are still the most reputable brand for commercially purchased li-ion cells, I am confident that they haven’t been deliberately ripping anyone off. Bear in mind that most of the top name brands are actually keeppower anyway.
You are starting to look a bit silly with your ever more extreme claims, which is probably a good thing if you’re going to carry on with them.

I dont think Keeppower uses fake Panasonic cells or such, but that was not just a little error. It was like that for maybe 2 years, thats far beyond a simple mistake. Most reputable brand? Not for me. Enerpower is the way to go.
After reading about this here and the other thread, I had to check mine so I peeled back the label and cut a hole. Now, I’d like to remove the black completely but will the protection circuit on the end still be captive under the green or outside of it?
the protection circuit will come off if you take off the black wrapper.
Also, its hard to cheat with a 3400mah cell. Panasonic is the only maker with that capacity.
Actually keeppower makes some batteries with black wrapper and clear wrapper and I even showed examples up the thread. Keeppower is not the only company making batteries with black wrappers.

I agree it was a stupid mistake to make, and should have been corrected earlier, but I’m willing to believe that it was no more than that.
The thing is that they weren’t counterfeit cells, they didn’t make any claims about what brand the cell was, the main claim was in capacity, which both the Sanyo and DLG cells met. The only claim on the cell which was incorrect were the words ’Cell and’, as the IC was made in Japan by SEIKO.
They wrap cells which are the same size and both with exactly the same label apart from those two words in relatively small print, and that small print is in a foreign language which a number of their employees don’t even speak, so it’s not to hard for me to see how a mistake could have been made.
That said, I still agree with you that it shouldn’t have happened. They needed to explain the issue and how they are going to correct it, but they seem to have been actively trying to do so. I don’t think it’s fair to just keep insulting them when they are already trying to explain why it happened and fix the issue for the future.
So the same mistake over a period of 2 years is still just a stupid little insignificant mistake? Yeah, sure, why not.
Was it really over two years though? I don’t remember Keeppower 14500s even being commercially available for that long, and they certainly did label some past 14500s as only IC and not cell made in Japan. What is this 2 year claim based upon?
I don’t want manufactures or the downstream distributors/vendors to think they can get away with misrepresentation. The language barrier is a weak excuse. I’m certain they have a firm grasp of payment systems despite language barriers. In return for the robust profit margins they receive we should have assurance of product integrity!

In the other thread, you posted that you got 14500s labelled "cell and IC made in Japan" but found a blue cell, and you still think it was just a mistake?

Since its happened with 14500 and 18500 over an extended time period who knows what keeppower batteries are affected. Get some 18650 shrink wrap, buy the WB 3400s & just check that its not labeled wrong. You can do shrink wrap with a hair dryer or a lighter even.
Anyone seen 18650s with fake cells inside ?
Should I open the wrapper on all my cells to check ?
