i am missing our Chinese friends already, our friendly contacts among dealers, sellers, distributors $), and manufacturers or other companies from the Far East, Shenzhen, Hongkong, .... None of them ever tries to rip us off but we schwing the pp hammer nonetheless yikes.

This year's spring festival falls on January 31st, 2014. Public holiday will be from January 31st to February 6 however many businesses will close early to allow their staff time to travel home.

Mon, Jan 27 to Sun, Feb 9
That's exactly 14 days.
They still work a bit for the company during that time (e.g. business travel, trade shows, trade fairs, testing software and hardware at home) but not at the Shenzhen workplace: the facility doors stay closed for 14 days straight.
good to know. emailing may still be possible. sure enough business people still check their emails even when they're on vacation.
2 weeks without WWW would be plain torture. unless you're in the sahara, no WLAN, but much sun instead. too much sun. hh.
