DQG SPY 10110 Titanium Alloy with Trit

You’d think for such an expensive light, better pictures with more details would be in order. I too could not identify the tritium marker. How about a picture of the battery and maybe some mention of the charger needed if it isn’t supplied with the light.

I know you’re being facetious, but honestly… after I bought 3 of those 18650 DQG in ‘titanium’ as groomsman gifts and getting burnt by the intermittent switching and poor anodization.

I’ll still buy his stuff, but no more first (or even second) gen products unless they’ve got sparkling reviews and pics up the wazoo.

Don’t you think it needs an MT-G2?

At least we know they are available other places.

Great news that it uses a 10180 cell

Yeah, they’ve changed the description now to say it takes a 10180 instead of a 10110.

Yeah, think I might need one now

Yes the 10180 makes a huge difference. Still a bit of an investment though buying the light, extra cell or two, and a low amp charger.
But I still want one.

The DQG Tiny 18650 II has me totally aggravated with RIC. He sent me the wrong tint and I'm stuck with it, the pocket clip is useless (too stiff), and I can't get the thing to change modes reliably for beans -- actually it's embarrassing to show it to anyone, or to even use it in front of anyone. As a modder, I can't see much I can do with the damn thing without ruining it, and there's nothing I can do about lousy threads. All these problems were reported on the first version, so what did he fix on version II?

This light appears to be 1/2 way there the same way... I even won one of his 30% off Black Friday deals, and picking between a DQG or BTU, I saw nothing I was willing to take a chance with -- never used it. The truth is his stuff looks attractive, but doesn't quite work so well.

Why would you launch a $55 light today with a XP-G and not a XP-G2? Just doesn't seem right, something is wrong here.... I believe the designs are not well thought out, or they have a poor design process from prototyping to production, or poor hand-off and communications to production, or all of the above.

As many of you know, I've bought quite a few Shockers from him, and modded a few others, and he can't even send me a replacement LED centering piece that will fit a Shocker.... I'm very frustrated in so many ways... Buyer beware is the rule here.

I thought my Inova Micro was expensive for such a little light. But nice that it is metal and has a trit.

The valeno designs Quantum D2 costs $80, but you get a charger as well as the battery and the quality of the light is top notch.

It would be interesting to compare the 2 lights. I might get one in a month or 2 and see how they compare.

@MattSPL, from velenodesigns.com you can get the Quantum D2 XPG2 with 2 trits installed for $65 + few bucks shipping.

It includes all the extras too (battery, charger, triangle rings, o-ring)

EDIT: without trits, it’s $48.

They must have gone down I price then, although I got mind from Illumination supply a while back. That’s a good deal with or without trits.

I got one from IS too but just recently.
Overall, I am very impressed by it and the gunmetal grey color is very nice.

That's Ric.

That's DQG.

That's CNQG.

Nobody ever claimed that's Fenix or Eagletac.

You get what you buy at Ric's. :P

This light can install 2 pcs of trit on the tail

With a 10180 battery can the length of 27mm still be right? 9mm for the head and that tail?

It’s essentially a mule, the surface of the die seems to be about even with the top of the knurling on the head. No real depth taken up doing it that way, so yeah, the length is probably right. It’s almost all battery tube.

What, 60-80 lumens of flood? Probably still pretty impressive for a thimble.

I got the DQG Ti VII 10440 a while back, I like the light and it replaced a Ti preon on my keychain due to its significantly smaller size. Problem was that the threads were so loose and the gasket did not sit properly so the head would always unscrew. After a few months i lost the head and battery and went back to the preon. I ended up finding the head and battery again after a week outside on the sidewalk ! Found a oversized gasket and carefully sanded it down on a bevel so it would compress well, lubed it up and now it works great and is back on my keychain.

If you get this light and the head is loose this is a must do mod if you want to keep all the parts.

Also while i like and own a Quantum DD it is SS instead of titanium and weighs way more than this light so its not really an apples-apples comparison.

Having said all this im still not getting one.

What do you folks that have 10180 lights use to charge the 10180 cells? Why wouldn’t the Nitecore Intellicharger i2 or i4 charge them?
