Custom SkyRay King SRK Driver

I asked Fasttech how much for 5000 ’7135 chips? … haven’t heard back yet…

subscribing, and hoping

Still watching and hoping it goes well.

Finally got a quote back on some large quantities of AMC7135 chips. Will probably build them up with 350 mA chips (2.8A/LED)… 380 mA ones cost twice as much. Adding a single 350 mA chip would bring the current to 3A/LED

This will probably be a stupid question, not sure if the pin arrangement is the same but could ATTINY85 be substituted with attiny13A ?

Good point on the cost savings. I will still be definitely interested in buying one or two of these if you build them with those modes you planned

It uses the TINY85… code is around 6K long…

yes, and I have code/UI that I like very much burned into attiny13a (purchased and locked) …

Do you still plan on using your friends pick-and-place machine? It sounds sophisticated and flexible if it can place all those 7135’s at the necessary various angles. If youre able to do it, a vid of that baby in action while making these drivers would be cool to see.

I was thinking of using a commercial board house to assemble the boards.

Ron’s machine will be rather slow and may not be ready for a while. He is trying to do some fancy pants image recognition to align and place the parts. So far it’s looking pretty good…

If you go the commercial board house route, do you know about how much you would be selling them for?

 i second the notion

This is sounding good. Of course this like… what- the choir preaching to the choir? How much and when?

Ditto!

I would LOVE to get a PCB from OSH Park and get the components and build my own...or pay some money for pre-built...I have a SRK and definitely are interested.

Tell ya what...trade you a pre-built lead acid battery desulfator for one of those (got mine from OSH Park as well)

OSH Park (Open Source Hardware) guy makes PERFECT PCB’s for dirt cheap…

He knows that ;)

But OSHpark only gives individual boards, not whole panels.

If you order enough of em I bet they would

They only burn 3 at a minimum...why do I know...I have 3x boards for some battery desulfators inbound...for an incredibly cheap price...anywhere else would probably have been a few hundred bucks...OSH Park...$11 and change for 3 on a panel

I bought a CNQ/FF ‘real’ SRK a few months ago, but when I tried taking the driver out to upgrade wiring and check solder connection quality, I was dismayed to find out that the driver was glued down to the head extremely well. I even tried heating and drilling to try to take the driver out, to no avail. This one would be a sweet replacement if I end up wrecking my current one. I’m getting obsessive about getting that driver out!
