Fasttech - interesting new products - Flashlights, chargers, batteries and DIY and knives - please no discussions.

Interesting looking knife. On the site they refer to it as a ‘monolock’? Looks like a frame lock to me…?

I had requested the UV5R, though I don’t know what wattage it is.

I had been eyeballing that knive. However I did buy one of the $5.00 Rimei 5806 knives and I liked it so much I ordered 5 more, so I thought I should resist the temptation to get that one as well, at least for now.

Chloe, I gave in and after doing some reading on eHam and elsewhere, ordered one of the 3W Baofeng units just to test and play with, and I did note the power plug will not work for me but that is minor. Your post has had me off on a tangent for the last couple of hours. Among other things, I submitted a request that Fasttech order some of the 5W Wouxun KG-UVD1P radios, and it also led me to a Blog where the US Wouxun dealer apparently dropped them in favour of a radio called an ‘AnyTone AT-3318UV-A’ which he claimed is even better, but I cannot seem to find on Ali or eBay.

Here is a good site I stumbled across that should give good info on that, and other similar ones:

So you must get 2 sets of either one to get 2 radios to talk between?
No sets like 2 radios + one charger?

I just noticed the same MRsDNF!!

Here it is, but please don't disscuss advantages of the 3 or 5 Watt product in this thread. Open a new, edit one of your posts here and write down the link to the thread. Everyone else, who is interested in could find all information in one thread. Thank you :)

Maybe useful for a DIY project:

Titanized High Speed Steel Drill Bit in different sizes: 4-32mm, 4-20mm, 4-12mm. You can get all three for $20,66 each separate for $4,19, $6,79, $ 11,05 My Link - non aff-link

Edit now a few more. Same size, but cheaper (all three in a box) for $17,80 My link

Now FT has a lot of Tekut knives. Here are only a few. Tekut uses 7Cr17MoV steel for the knives and not the 8Cr13MoV like Sanrenmu or Enlan. SOG uses this steel in a few knives.
I don't own a Tekut and would prefer a SRM if the design is similar, because SRM would be cheaper and I like the quality of SRM. But Tkut have some designs, which looks interesting.

TEKUT LK4120 Fire Snake Stainless Steel Folding Knife 62mm blade.Closed length 89mm, opened 151mm, blade thickness 2,2mm, weight 59g. Price $11,73 , my link - non aff-link

The next knives are available in a few different styles. In blue, black or rainbow colored, with a 65mm balde or sthe small version with a 43mm blade.

You forgot "vaping gear"

That UV-5R is a decent little rig, I have a Puxing PX-777+ and a MTC UV-X4 (which I believe is the Beofeng UV-3R) and they work rather well..on the dual band you can program in both the non-regulated (you wont need a license) GRMS/FRS [limited to .5 watts] and MURS frequencies and if you are a HAMer they actually have pretty good range with DIY antennas, and can use a myriad of repeaters

You don't need a license to listen...only Transmit...

During an emergency the HAMers come out of the woodwork..and even though everything else is down...trust me...they ARE still talking

Now FT add some more flashlights.
Convoy L5 1*Cree XM-L2 U2-1A 2-Group 3/5-Mode LED Flashlight black / 1-2*18650 / 1-2*26650 / LD29 driver / 2600mAh. Price with BLF: $38,13. My Link - non Aff-link
16. Jan. FT add some more LEDs: T4-7A, T5-5B, T6-4C, T6-3B.

XINTD X3 1*Cree 1000LM Warm White LED Flashlight dark grey / 7135*8 / 1*18650 / 1*26650 / 3*AA available with different LEDs:
XM-L2, 5-Mode (all other shops wrote 2 groups: 3 [low, mid, high] and 5 mode) ->I will ask, T4-7A, T5-5B, T6-3B, T6-4C , U2-1A Price with BLF $32,56-34,08 My link - non aff-link

Why why WHY can’t they make a proper quality 3xAA holder instead of this 0.50$ piece of you know what, starts with “s”!!!

Unfortunately even the seller with nice quality holders on pictures is shipping X3 with cheap plastic one. 5 mode only and the same price as the one from banggood with 2 groups driver. Intl-outdoor has much nicer modes selection with less bright lower modes (2% and 25% instead of 5 and 40%) but is it worth $15 extra?

About L5 - description says XM-L2 U2 1A, picture shows warm white emitter.

Yep. Even when there are suggestions, fellow flashaholics aren't supporting each other.

Being passive aggressive isn't any better.

There's one big benefit to this thread that only a few people have been clever enough to figure out. It keeps a record of their initial price, which is especially useful if they conform to MAP and you want to request pre-MAP pricing from FT or even other vendors.

While it’s a bit like being behaviour corrrected back in school, I have to admit there is some logic to that. Since Fasttech went off the rails, and with all the vaping gear being carpet bombed on their new products pages daily, this thread has resulting in me becoming aware of items I’m interested in before I would have seen them otherwise. EG: I ordered one of the Baofeng 3W units, and when the 5W got listed grabbed one of them too, both brought to my attention via this thread. I also appreciate that some of the comments shed some light on things, like this:

From a backpacker’s standpoint those Peckers look interesting so I plan to order one soon. (My last FT order with a cheap CRKT knive got sent back by Chinese Customs yesterday BTW)

So overall, I’m finding this thread has value, nor my shorts don’t get too twisted in a knot when other members chime in with their valuable feedback either. Anyone else got a Pecker that they’ve used BTW?

FT listed some more Conyoy L5 LED variations. I will add this to my post of 14. Jan, because thre are some pictures of the L5.

Now Fasttech listed two knives of RealSteel, but named these Sanrenmu. This is not 100% correct. Sanrenmu is a big OEM manufacturer and produced the knives for RealSteel, the designer is the same (his name: Liang Gang), but both companies do not belong together like Enlan and Bee.
I have written a few reviews about some RealStel knives (at the moment they are in German and not translated into English). I will open a new thread about this brand.

The two knives look like the bigger brother of the Sanrenmu 763 (not with axislock, but the newer Sanrenmu 7063 have a linerlock, too).

Sanrenmu RealSteel E963 Stainless Steel Folding Knife black or and handle / 85mm blade / liner lock. Here is the link to my review (it's in German, but you will get a few more pictures and a short comparison to the LB763). $30. My link - non aff-link.

Navy K633ps 440C, Stainless Steel Half Serrated Lock Back Folding Knife w/ nylon sheath. Black FRN handle. $16,46. My link - non aff-link I ordered the not serrated version two weeks ago and will comapre it with the G10 handel of the Navy K631.

You like colors? Sanrenmu LP-617 Stainless Steel Folding Knife / 53mm blade / liner lock. Available in pink, red, orange, green (I would call it yellowgreen), blue (this looks more like mint green). $8,40. My link - non aff-link

And some tools for the keyring made by NexTool. Each has some other functions. Price for each round about $7,70. My link - non aff-link

I know how the last looks, sorry for this
.

to me i would like to get a clone one since this is a little over budget to me

Not new but good price:

http://www.fasttech.com/search?nitecore%20i2

I have’t seen any clones. Where can I find them?

Some small tritium kit markers/keyrings in a range of colours (blue, green, orange, white, yellow), 11.29 USD each:

It’s been some time since I made a purchase of a Nitecore from Fasttech, but now see that their prices are actually high.

I recognize that MAP may be in play here, but do they offer a discount on them, other than the 5% off, if contacted privately?

thanks…

some of the newer Nitecores look nice but the prices that Fasttech used to charge would have made them within reach
