La Luz Optics L5000

Has anybody tested the L5000 yet? I know they are not available on his site yet but I am hoping to hear some good news about them.

Just an update,

They temporarily stopped production do to the new lithium battery shipping problems.

I was thinking...

this might work well and you could make your own video light. First you would need a suitable host:

One example would be a (2) 18650 or 26650 Li-ion dive light with removable reflector. With cells arranged in series (+ to -)

Install a Cree MT-G2 and drive it to around 4.4A (cf. bottom Graph - Match's test results MT-G2)

This should produce 1800+ OTF lumens. MT-G2 color temp. would be 5000K (mtn).

For comparison... the La Lux L1000 advertised at 5500K and L5000 at 6500K

re. Drivers The hard part is finding drivers that don't use PWM, so it's likely that it would be only a single mode (Hi) light. Or if not, be aware that on lower brightness settings there would be PWM - not suitable for video lights.

The cost should be somewhere under $150.

I have been planing on making my own video lights for years… Just keep making excuses and procrastinating though.
I need 2 and they would have to be at least 100° with soft edges, 3000 lumens each with a run time of an hour and half and not a canister light….
