When it is time to pay and you are redirected to the PayPal site for log-in. Check that a secure connection has been established before you enter your email and password.
Tried several times with different browsers would not get a secure connection.
Even if it is legit problem please check you have a secure connection before entering your PP details and having them fly around the internet in the clear,.
Its not just the https address, it needs the lock symbol showing (usually in the address bar), that a secure connection has been established. Very easy to miss these days. IIRC some of the early browsers changed the whole address field colour to green if it was a secure connection, wish they would do that now, much easier to see than a small lock!
I wasn’t paying too much attention to security at the time. I do check in the address bar to make sure it has the PayPal website address. I just changed my PayPal password for peace of mind.
Color me stupid, but can they get that info from me placing an order thru Paypal? Is there protection thru Paypal for this? I have an e-mail in to them, but if it’s true, by the time I receive an e-mail reply I may be broke
My precaution was to prevent access to my account. The actual Paypal transaction is not revealing any personal info other than that needed for the transaction (ex. address, name, etc.)
Awesome. Personally, I think its a PR/marketing trick (in a positive way I mean) to get her website known and to generate a buzz/business. Seems legit so far!
