Free image correction and retouching, my contribution to BLF

I really enjoy reading this forum and I’d like to contribute in some way. I was hoping to do a giveaway for the holidays but I couldn’t get it together in time.

I am able to do imaging, color correction, color restoration and some retouching.

If you have an image you’d like me to work on, please PM me and I’ll be happy to work on it for you at no charge.

If you're really up for this, I bet some reviewers would appreciate having their raw photos corrected, and some converted to animated gifs.  At least I would.  That'd be awesome, but it's asking a lot.

The low mode should be lower.

I am very good at correcting raw images, I would be happy to work on them. as far as animated gifs go I haven’t done many but I am fast learner. Smile

Actually, animated gifs are easy enough.  The tough part is editing all the images that go into them.  I haven't done it in a while, but I did mine using Gimp.  I'll get back into it and do a tutorial.  Maybe it'll help others.

The low mode should be lower.

I was just reading up on Gifs, seems straightforward enough. As far as editing goes, I am used to it.

I think tutorial is a great idea.

This is a very generous offer Kodachrome40. Are you able to touch up my present day pictures of my wife to make her pretty again? :Sp

Lol, half the reason I show up here is the great sense of humor of BLF members.

I am happy to work on whatever type of image ignites your interest. Smile

Are you offering to do just forum photos, or are you offering for people that have personal photos too? Like old family album photos that need to be done. Do you convert film to Digital?  I ask, only because I wasn't sure from the OP.

I should clarify my OP. For now I was thinking I would work on digital photos. Since I could download and upload digitally.
I can convert film to digital but that would require shipping and I am not organized for that yet.

I am happy to work on whatever type of image, forum or otherwise.

Thanks for bumping, Ryansoh3 :D!

Very generous and probably time consuming offer, did anyone try it, Kodachrome40?

I’ve had the pleasure of dispensing some advice about imaging over PMs. No one so far has needed my imaging services. (Maybe my fees are too high Wink )

At times it can be time consuming, I’ve managed to learn a few shortcuts to speed things up.

That’s the idea, reignite the interest.

Reignite my interest ? Hmm. Better think of something else to touch up then.

I’m positive many of us could benefit from your offer and be happy to take you up on it. Any chance you could post an example of what this does? I’d be happy to offer up any of my images for you to use for this or maybe you could pm a member whose image you’d like to use instead. I know my images could be better but would like to see what you would do.

Most of images I work on I am under NDA, so I can’t use them as an example. If anyone has a few images that need some help I could work on them and post them as an example.

What’s NDA? Just suggesting you link to a post number or image that you could improve, then I or another member can send you the file. That, or you post a before and after to show what you can do. I’d rather not swamp you with crap images not worth your time or effort. It’s a great offer and I’d like to see just what you mean by “improve”.

ImageMagick:
convert -delay 100 -loop 0 *.jpg animation.gif

(will make a looping animation of all jpeg files, with one second between frames)

Also pretty easy in gimp. Add each image as a new layer, set delays by editing the layer names, then save as gif. This allows a lot more manual tweaking of individual frame content and timing.

Regardless of the method, it will still reduce the color to 8 bits. It’s too bad we don’t have a widely-adopted 24-bit animated image format.

Can you remove something from an image. Foe eg. There is a picture of my Mother and Father in one of there old cars that has a modern car in the background. Could this be removed? You would probably have to see the picture yes?

If there is enough image to pull from (clone from) yes I think it is possible. If the image is too small then it might not work. I can tell you more detail once I see the image.

I’ll be happy to give it a try. Smile

We could not decipher his name but according to our analysis his favourite phrase is “I pity the fool…”
