[Review] DQG Tiny26650 (Triple CREE XP-G2 R5 CW, 1x 26650)

feet or meters :quest:

I have one of these on the way and this review definitely makes me feel I made the right move pulling the trigger on one of these!

Thanks for the review!

I also got one, an like it..there are definitely a few small things to improve, but all in all, a great little torch.

Oh, and I like you don't post tooo many unnecessary pictures of different angles, who don't really add anything to the review itself!

I like it!

Thanks for the review. I am interested a bit myself in triple emitter lights.

Do you have any picture of the battery compartment. I have no idea if the body is just a thin-walled tube or if it has cell compartments similar to Skyray King.

I received mine today. Dropped a King Kong in it. Impressed with: fit and finish, the moonlight setting, its arrival in a pristine, undamaged condition,. Will wait for the dark to crank her up.

Can anyone comment on water resistance?

I dropped mine in the snow today and it was acting a bit weird for a bit after that in terms of mode changes and shutting off.

And then i noticed some condensation build up in the lens.

Just took out the o-ring and relubed it up to see if that helps. It seems seated OK.

Either that or the switch maybe? These cheap switches never seem like they can hold water.

EDIT: Re-reading the product description on CNQG…makes no mention of being water resistant in any way.

This is a bummer…. besides lube is there anything else that might help out

Hi pipifax, welcom to BLF!

The battery compartments is a thin walled tube, it’s only single cell therefore no cell compartments like on SRK.

There is a good photo of the tube on wallbuys site, 5th picture in, here’s a link to the page:

Not for the switch.

Its better after its dried out, but not 100%. It likes to switch modes on its own every so often.

Wow, this little guy is small. I don’t have mine yet, but the photos make it look larger than I would have thought. Looked up the spec, and compared to my ZL600 MK1. My SC600 MK1 is 107mm long, and if this is correct, I found specs that show the DQG Tiny 26650 is 99mm long, 8mm shorter than the ZL, what !!!

I received mine today and WOW this thing is way smaller then I was thinking. This thing is a keeper for me! In turbo mode I got over 6a draw from a king kong lol

Does anybody have BEAM SHOTS from more than ten feet from a wall?

Would be nice to see what sort of beam this thing puts out from 20 yards back to a tree or some fixed object.

I look forward to mine

I’ll take one tonight. It didn’t really have a beam lol to me it seems like a massive flooder but haven’t really played with it outside yet.

Update the link below will take you to the night shots I just took

mhemling33,
PERFECT. Wow, Thanks so much. Answers all of my questions about what it can do, now all I need is to receive the light, try it out for a while, and see how long it lasts. What a great photo you took. Nice!

Thanks for the link!

pictures of the driver to those who are interested

Thanks for the review. I really want to like this light, but I hate the fact it starts on Low every time. Is there no way to program it or make it come on in high instead?

Also, can anyone clarify the turbo mode. The review says it returns to your previous select mode.

So if you are on Low and double click you get turbo and then automatically steps down to low again??? Isn’t this a little counter intuitive going from lowest to highest to lowest?

From the pictures of the driver, this light does not have the LED mounted on the driver board like some of the previous DQG offerings. This suggests that the light could probably be modded with a DrJones driver with your choice of UI.

hello,

I received the torch! I love it already! high power turbo mode
