:_(

Gosh I’d be flustered. Ouch :_(

Nonetheless, it was great seeing the process.

Oh no. Is there a way to squeeze it back and repair it from the inside with JB Weld?

Oh man. This mod was really getting interesting. Sorry to hear about the bad luck bro.

As Arnold would say; “I’ll be back”!
I just need a little away time before I return to the COURUI. I have some other mods to work on while the memory of the “troubles” fades away and I recuperate my zeal.

DANG! I had sh!t like that happen to me too and I feel your pain man. Ouch!

Damn. Sorry to hear and yes l feel your pain. Been there done that (twice). You may of mentioned this already, where did it come from and what was your 7 amp driver.

I got my driver from This eBay seller. I’ve had three orders from him so far, and he got right back to me when I had questions.

Damn that is bizarre, can’t imagine why a thread would lock up like that. That’s a real shame but it’s a cheap host at least so not too much harm done to the wallet! :stuck_out_tongue:

I have another one at hand. I’m working on an improved series conversion. It works in my mind but whether it will work in real life will need to be determined.
My COURUI had really bad and uneven threads, and the reflector had lots of blemishes so I’m not crying. My other one has a blemish free reflector. I haven’t checked the threads yet. I may install a 5A ramping driver in the second attempt.

Arrrgh, great description though. I’ve had to “two to make one” myself a few times and it’s a belly blow when it happens. Question: you did a nice job getting the copper in there, why leave the aluminum? It wouldn’t be hard to make a copper disc instead.

I left the aluminum because it was threaded into the pill, therefor making it integral to the light. If I replaced it with a copper round, it wouldn’t have been making much contact with the pill, just barely touching against the threads. Since copper won’t solder to aluminum, the integrity of the entire heat sink would have relied on glue.

Does it have mode memory? Thanks.

Yes, it has mode memory.
