I just ordered the T6-4C from BG. I think it is the default OP reflector. Now I'm thinking if I should shoot an email to them to swap the order to SMO reflector. I read on the first page that OP has much better beam than SMO but I also eager to see the maximum throw of this light.

Are they the same size (stock from BG and the one on Fasttech)?

Anyone used an AR lens on this? I am thinking of getting one but I have my doubts you’d notice a difference.

Yesterday I ordered one at intl-outdoor with some other items. My expectations are low though.

I have those AR lenses from IO, no noticeable differences except it is easier to clean them…

I agree. the AR lense from the XinTD C8 have a bad coating. You can tell by looking at the tint of the reflection with a light bulb, the one from OS almost look like normal glass but with more blue tint, the one I got from cnqualitygoods have clearly a cleaner, weaker and cooler reflection.

I think the highest quality is UCL lens from flashlight lens but its not cheap.

And yes I can clearly see a difference in the output but its small but the beam look sharper. Its like cleaning your windows glasses.

Why you didn’t choose U2 version?
Isn’t U2 better than T6?

It’s a little brighter yes, but the T6 is 4C which is a much warmer tint than the 1A tinted U2.

I wouldn’t sacrifice brightness for tint but if it’s a light you use regularly, getting something that isn’t so sharp on the eyes might be an investment.

I like more "neutral" light, not light so white it's almost blue or so soft it's yellow

Yes you loose a few lumens to different bins, but for me it's about color rather than blazing light, which without a meter you really couldn't tell you lost 10 lumens

http://flashlightwiki.com/Cree#XM-L

First letters are bin numbers yes the U2 is a brighter bin (makes more light), but the C4 tint (4300-4500K)vs the 1A (6500-7000K) is what I was aiming for

From left to right (white balance set to 5,200K): Quark MiNi AA (cool white XP-G R5), Olight T20-M (XR-E Q5), Quark 123² Turbo (XP-G S2), 4Sevens Preon 2 (neutral XP-G R4), Quark RGB (neutral white MC-E), SureFire 6P (incandescent), 4Sevens Preon 2 (high CRI XP-G), Quark MiNi AA (high CRI XP-G), Mini Maglite (incandescent), Quark 123² Tactical (warm white XP-G Q5).

Careful ! More lumens absolutely don’t mean we see things better, its the most common mistake in flashlight world. The tint of the light, beam pattern and CRI (color rating index) is a determining factor to the human eyes, yes we are human with absolutely subjective view, we don’t see precise numbers.

You shouldn’t worry about the bin brightness because even the lowest bin have almost all the same brightness to the eye.
But if you want to impress people used to incan tint and blind someone I think cool white is better.

Oh yeah, no doubt...I run 6000K LED bulbs in my light fixtures, crazy bright and it makes all the colors pop, but in a flashlight I prefer the neutral...but like you said...subjective Silly

I’ve ordered XML2 U2-1A (the white tint is not a problem for me) and I’ve cancelled order (XM-L U2-1B) from fasttech

I may have to blame this thread because they still haven’t shipped my order after 3 days. Too many orders to handle! Cash

I ordered on 8th. I asked them to combine with batteries maybe that’s the reason.

Mine has shipped,…ordered on 2/10/14 shipped on 2/13/14,….I am not sure how it takes 3 days to pull an item from inventory package it and ship it?

Most places I order from ship within 24 hours and I receive my package within 3 days.

This is Hong Kong, free shipping, cheap products and I know some shops, where it takes 7 days to ship a product. The bigger shops have thounds of orders each day (this picture is from DX):

Do you live in the USA? You can buy the Convoy here and I think you will have it within a few days, but pay round about $33 within shipping.

Light up the darkness.

I order from DX for a long time, Focalprice and Priceangels too but they are less interresting.
Fasttech, Banggood, Tmart and other seems to be newer shop but they are more specialized in flashlight, which is good for us.
DX can take one week to process an order, just send it to post office. But as they are the oldest, I believe they have tons of orders.

Just to say that now I’m used to chinese website shipping time, shipping time vs price, I choose price.
One day I may try to order on Taobao, there is a thread here about taobao intermediary.

I measured between 2.7-2.8 Amps at the tail of all my Convoy C8’s. Considering stacking some more 7135 chips but would this result in perceivably increased output or simply waste energy in the form of heat? It seems 2.8A is quite a ‘sensible’ current level with no significant overheating issues. Thoughts?

I’m just contemplating the same. I do have an XML2 on noctigon (which I’m going to dedome) and a copper pill ready for this light. I’m thinking of stacking a 7135 on 2 or 3 of the excisting 7135’s. Is this a smart thing to do?

Thanks to you guys I ordered the Convoy C8 XML2 T6-4C. Pretty excited since its my first LED flashlight.

I choose the standard free shipping and the website says it already shipped but I didn't get any tracking numbers. I'm guessing the free shipping for just the flashlight ($17.00) doesn't include tracking?

Does paying for the Air Mail Register option give tracking?

I usually allow 3 weeks for China/Hong Kong orders. Just relax.

I know it can take awhile I've ordered from China 6 different times over the last year, just not from Banggood. Just wondering why I didn't get a tracking number?

Edit... I found the answer on their forum site. No tracking for anything under $25

I don’t really know how this happened, but mine is STILL in transit after ordering on 1/21. Get this—it ships from China to the US, landing in New York. “Nice,” I think to myself, “I’m in Pennsylvania, so surely it will be here soon!”

I just checked the tracking information, and it’s now in Puerto Rico…on its way back now.

Not sure how we got that off-course.

It’s reported every once in a while, presumably either sorting error or tracking update error.

I had a package recently make it to New York (800 miles away), and a bit later end up in Hawaii(~6000 miles away). It got to me a few days later.

I wouldn’t worry too much about it.

I’ve had packages from china take a few days, all the way up to ~60 days.
