Get the Convoy C8 AK47 from Banggood (8*7135)

I know it can take awhile I've ordered from China 6 different times over the last year, just not from Banggood. Just wondering why I didn't get a tracking number?

Edit... I found the answer on their forum site. No tracking for anything under $25

I don’t really know how this happened, but mine is STILL in transit after ordering on 1/21. Get this—it ships from China to the US, landing in New York. “Nice,” I think to myself, “I’m in Pennsylvania, so surely it will be here soon!”

I just checked the tracking information, and it’s now in Puerto Rico…on its way back now.

Not sure how we got that off-course.

It’s reported every once in a while, presumably either sorting error or tracking update error.

I had a package recently make it to New York (800 miles away), and a bit later end up in Hawaii(~6000 miles away). It got to me a few days later.

I wouldn’t worry too much about it.

I’ve had packages from china take a few days, all the way up to ~60 days.

Ordered one to see how it looks like

Received mine today,……really nice light for $15.00! This is my first budget light purchase and it amazes me what you can get for very little money with the right information. I only have cheap Ultrafire batteries to try it with but it is still very bright. I have some Samsung 20R coming from Mountain Electronics that I hope will wake it up,…I also ordered a modified 5a XINTDV4 to compare it too.

if these are your 1st budget light purchases, you certainly have a much better start than I had. I bought a bunch of junk for quite a while before I started learning from these brainards here  Problem is where do you go from here, and how costly is that gunna get…

assuming you’re in the U.S. how long did it take from time of order to receive your light?

patrick

There’s no shaking it…this is a fab light. There’s just no C8 made quite like it.

Nice price batteries for budget lights like Convoy:

Wow, that was fast!
How did you get it in just 6 days?
What country?
What post?

Ordered on 2/10/14, shipped on 2/13/14, received on 2/18/14, Knoxville,TN. USA…I used the upgraded shipping options not sure which one but it was only a few dollars.

I didn’t upgraded shipping and now I have to wait

Got mine today. Very nice c8 host. Mine came with a lighty coated ar lens, didn’t look coated until I took it out to check the gitd lens rubber o ring. Much nicer stock host than any other c8 style I’ve seen.

Took 33 days to Canada. Dx shipped an order, placed a week after, that arrived in 2 weeks. (Dx usually takes forever)

Satisfied and will probably use banggood again… Maybe. Convoy is a great step up from the others.

Today I received my second flashlight, a “Super XINT D” @ 5a from Mountain Electronics and lets just say if you want to be happy with your Convoy C8 don’t compare it to Mountain Electronic’s modified XINT D, …wow it is bright!! :open_mouth:

I still like the Convoy for the price but it is as weak as water compared to my new light.

Link please.

The XinTD V4 is built even better than the Convoy C8. One of the few I’ve seen that has the reflector screwed into the pill. You can bank on Richards mods as well, he’s doing some very solid work. With a caveat on the differences the Convoy brings to the table…you can swap reflectors, pills, and mod the Convoy easier. And there have been full copper pills made for it as well. I have two of those from Ryan and they make a huge difference in modding the light.

I modded my XinTD V4 with an XM-L2 U2 1A on a Noctigon, pulling 5.03A and making 1335 lumens OTF at 30 seconds. My Cu pilled C8 is doing 5.16A on an XM-L2 T6 3C for 1256 lumens OTF at 30 seconds. The XinTD V4 has a smooth reflector, the C8 has an OP.

Really love em both, but the added weight of that big copper pill in the C8 gives it a nice heft that I enjoy and allows it to hold it’s output longer.

With the different build of the XinTD V4 there’s been a lot of praise going that way, and it really is a nice light. But I think I’m liking my C8 just as much if not more in large part due to it’s modability and that huge chunk of copper.

5 amp XINTD V4 from Richard? A legit 1,300 otf? On Noctigons? Wow.

How does it work with his drivers? Do they require a special battery to achieve those amps or are they regulated? I’ve seen a number of members claim a given light “pulls 5 amps,” but have been disappointed a few times and not seen anywhere close to such numbers. That’s why I ask.

I modded mine myself, that said, I talk with Richard and I bought my Qlite from him, as well as my 7135 chips and Noctigon pads and XM-L2 emitters. He builds the driver up in the same way that I do with the same results. Just like me, he does spring bypasses to cut resistance. We both use Panasonic NCR18650PD or PF cells or the Samsung 20R and both get that 5A at the tail cap. I have a light box that was made for me by a couple of very nice guys here on the forum that I mod some lights for. It’s readings are consistent with the readings others get.

If you get one of Richards XinTD V4 modded lights, this is what you’ll be getting. Straight up. Same as if I modded it for you, or Tom E or Race or anyone else. And Richard does beautiful soldering on his stacked chips!

As a matter of fact, I have one of his lights on order that he informed me today he’d completed. (I do believe they call that putting your money where your mouth is.)

I love the Convoys, but I dos believes this ones Is cants pass bys! :stuck_out_tongue: Does it maintain full power or close to? How much run-time on a Samsung 20R?

Thanks!
