who wants beryllium springs

If u guys want to check the shipping my info is Port Clinton Ohio 43452

and by the way it looks they would not weigh very much and ill be using a 4x6 bubble mailer to ship else where with taped edges unless u want different ?

I am glad that someone tries to make this come true again.

From my experience Shipping to me in a bubble mailer is around 7$ For a untracked envelope.
The springs are also not very cheap but with shipping for a small quantity it is a dealbreaker which make the springs double the price. So the idea of one bigger order to a country which than gets distributed is probably the only reasonable way for a small private use of the springs.

What is with these springs convoy uses? I guess they are cheap.
Has anyone compared them to these berylliumfancysprings?

Just let me know when you are ready to go on this GB.

I my self have not tested any but from what i read they are the best to use on applications over 4+amps, if anyone would like to be my re-shipper in your guys country just post and will go from there when this gets off the ground, but everyone does not need to use the RE-shipper if they dont want to

If this really gets going I'd be in for 20, 9x9mm and that shape sounds very versatile to me. I could do Europe reshipping but I am afraid the dutch post is relatively expensive, and a Germany based member would make more sense.

edit: it looks like I can send it as a letter (max 20 grams, 3.2cm thick), it is 1.05 euro worldwide. But I guess that if nitro can send it as a letter too, it should not be too expensive to send it directly.

I went to USPS.com and selected the calculator and typed in my zip code 43452 and entered Zeremefico location (Greece) and entered Letter @ 0.0440925 = 20 Grams and it says $1.15 ??

I’ll ask around the Korean forums and see if other modders are interested.

Nitro, no offense intended but please make sure the shipping and packaging costs are actually used for shipping and packaging. Many of us received damaged or missing SinkPads because the sorting machines ripped the envelopes open. Also, if you could follow through your orders completely without disappearing for weeks, that would be great!

ill make sure it will go smoother, just to say i did not disappear for just that reason doing a GB is harder than just collecting funds and packing and shipping ect......(and i believe everyone got a refund/order re-shipped?)

but i still would like to have few RE-shippers for each country so that does not happen again and we all can pitch in for somewhat tracking to them ?

and for the US buyers it will be mailed in a Priority box so that way everyone has a tracking number UNLESS u want it shipped cheap ?

I’d be in for 20-25, as long as shipping isn’t more than 1/4 the total cost

maybe Hikelite could order 200-300 and distribute them in Europe if he is up for that

It would be interesting if someone could compare the resistance of these to the ones from FT. Relic noted that they might be a beryllium alternative and delivered low resistance with good performance. Post 52.

In for 20 please. Thanks for the effort on this Nitro!

All the specs on the springs please?

OAL, Wire Diameter, Base diameter, Top diameter, Temperature range before spring tension is lost, Compression rate, (how many pounds of force to compress the spring).

I would be in for 50 to 100 if the specs come out good. I don't want a spring that compresses easily or looses it's spring when soldered, as beryllium does sometimes.

More info here >>> http://www.leespring.com/product_spec.asp?springType=C&partnum=LBC028A01AAA

Thanks. Here's the specs.

Specification

Part Number

LBC 028A 01 AAA
Outside Diameter 0.216 in
Hole Diameter
Wire Diameter 0.028 in
Load At Solid Length 2.135 lb
Free Length 0.355 in
Rate 9.37 lb/in
Solid Length
Rod Diameter
Number of Coils
Total Coils 4.7
Finish PRE-COATED WITH SILVER
Material BECU

That equates to:

OD 5.5mm

Free Length 9.0mm

Wire Diameter 0.7mm

Appreciate the info. I will need to pass, too small for my needs.

Thanks

If any other Aussies want in on this I'll reship for us if needed.

If this is the size of the spring in this group buy it is mostly interesting for small EDC type lights, while beryllium springs makes a real difference at many amps. I'm still in for a few though, but only about 10. If the springs are bigger, say diameter 10mm, length 12mm, I will want more.

… and wire diameter of .9 - 1.0mm

I’ll take 10. Just let me know when this will happen.
