The Fandyfire does fit the Copper pill? What about the Tangsfire?

+1 For readily available copper and supporting a BLF’er.

That’s correct, I ordered HD2010 from Tmart a couple months ago and it had a bigger pill diameter, so my copper pills did not fit.

Here’s the one I ordered: http://www.tmart.com/UItraFire-CREE-XM-LT6-8W-1300-Lumen-5-Mode-LED-Flashlight-Gray_p135765.html

The anodizing tint is slightly more warm with a light brown hue. It does not have a logo on its sides.

So which ones do fit?

Going back to my very first Tmart purchase, the HD2010 I ordered a few years ago now directs to the not-fitting version. I think some have reported that the TangsFire one accepts the pills.

Mine is an older no-named one from T-Mart some time back (about a year ago now) and the copper pill fit it just fine. So now that’s my dilemma, which new light is going to fit my existing copper pill? JB Weld to the rescue! lol Arctic Silver Thermal Adhesive would be the better choice if one got that desperate of course.

I wonder…could the aluminum head be put on a hot plate upside down with the copper pill braced into it such that it were “seated”, then re-flow solder into the gap left by mismatched threads and diameter? The solder would of course stick to the copper pill but not the aluminum head, thereby making it a removable adaptation…. would that work? Would that be better for heat transfer into the head than say an epoxy type adhesive?

A large Helicoil?

Elmers?

ABC Super Bubble?

HD2010 is still my preference in regard to looking at the other lights. I just like it’s short solid fat build and the use of 26650 cells, not to mention the fact that I’ve got some new 60A cells coming to try out…

That should work IMHO and is sure worth a try to be able to use this copper pill.
I might give it a try if I do not come up with a HD2010 that it fits.

And what’s with the 60A 26650??

If this Group Buy ends up being a HD2010 the size of the pill seems to be a bit of a lottery at best.

A option would be to ask Richard of Mountain Electronics if he could have these pills made up in AL.
He must have a CNC connection that made the AL adapters for his triple build.
Copper is just to hard/problem/pain to machine, but if the number needed is high enough anything is possible.

Richard might also be a good source of the parts needed to mod these lights.
With being located in the US the shipping is no problem and very fast.

Just trying to come up with a way to make this deal work for everyone.

Maybe if Ryan is up to it, he could be sent a copy of the host everyone gets and produce a copper pill to fit that host. That would eliminate the guessing. Maybe he could be pre-paid as part of the order for the HD…

I do not think you would having any problem to having a “Full Classroom” if you did teach a mod class for this light.

Thanks,
Ed

Well, if it does happen, (I am waiting on an answer from Tmart), then part of it could be how to make a Copper center core for the stock Aluminum pill.

We could get a member with a lathe or cut off saw to take a stick of 3/4" copper rod and cut lengths off and then we just drill out the Aluminum pills and press in the copper rod. It would be something like I would do with hand tools and it should not cost an arm and a leg, maybe.

From what I have just read in the last few posts I would not be surprised if the same branded light has a different thread size batch to batch. I have two early HD2010 from different manufacturers and the pill size measures around about the same. Just keep in mind that Chinese thread sizes have extreme tolerances and that some pills you could screw in with a throw at 100 yards.

Very good point. I favor just a Copper insert pressed into the Aluminum pill. It’s just for heat sinking anyhow. Some place for the heat to go. That’s all Copper is for in a flashlight… Oooops, I am going off topic. Back to light selection…

I really like the idea of drilling and pressing being an option. Ooh that and someone machining an extension to facilitate MTG2 modification.

Well, I’m not sure my half joke post was taken seriously, but if most who like the HD2010 idea agree, I’d find it amusing to have the deal be on the Uranusfire model, just for fun, and it would make a “different” light for those who have one or two already!

OK,

Seems like it will be a HD 2010

I am working with Tmart, to see if they can test amperage draw on three of the HD 2010 lights.

Fandyfire SKU: 88013993
No Name SKU: 88007126
Tangsfire SKU: 88008313

As soon as they let me know, then I will get pricing from them.

If you have a preference between the three on them, then speak up here, so I can count heads.
Thanks

Ryansoh3 pill threads? Its the only reason I want one. I like that one, whichever it is ….might be.

Based on my reading it might be hit and miss though.

Going to pick the Fandy. But lets see if we get amp draws of the other two, not just from Tmart but from member that have the other two.

I”m glad the 2010 got picked  Never picked one up on any of the previous deals.

i know it can be hit-or-miss on any of these guys, but count me in.

Will they all fit a 26650?
Do any have a low battery warning?
How can I refuse such a good thing says fandyfire LOL
Interested

I have three Tangsfire 2010s, and the copper pill fits them all. They all came with East-92 driver.
