who wants beryllium springs

another member from Michigan that's very close to me

All the specs on the springs please?

OAL, Wire Diameter, Base diameter, Top diameter, Temperature range before spring tension is lost, Compression rate, (how many pounds of force to compress the spring).

I would be in for 50 to 100 if the specs come out good. I don't want a spring that compresses easily or looses it's spring when soldered, as beryllium does sometimes.

More info here >>> http://www.leespring.com/product_spec.asp?springType=C&partnum=LBC028A01AAA

Thanks. Here's the specs.

That equates to:

Wire Diameter 0.7mm

Appreciate the info. I will need to pass, too small for my needs.

Thanks

If any other Aussies want in on this I'll reship for us if needed.

If this is the size of the spring in this group buy it is mostly interesting for small EDC type lights, while beryllium springs makes a real difference at many amps. I'm still in for a few though, but only about 10. If the springs are bigger, say diameter 10mm, length 12mm, I will want more.

… and wire diameter of .9 - 1.0mm

I’ll take 10. Just let me know when this will happen.

I’m in for 20.

Thanks. Generous offer.

Thanks Mattaus this will help me out a lot

What's the alloy used for these springs, there are several beryllium copper alloys.

If they can do this, I'll take 20 for sure!

Sooo, I'm still desperate for springs that do not require copper braiding, what's up with this attempt?

Anyone else who is going to pick this up? Not me, I'm in Europe, someone in the US who has access to the few companies there that make them, or someone with chinese connections.

I found these on Amazon (again for the US-based; they do not ship to Europe anything else but books):

http://www.amazon.com/Silver-Coated-Beryllium-Copper-Compression-Spring/dp/B000FNKKVQ/ref=sr_1_2?s=industrial&ie=UTF8&qid=1412089784&sr=1-2&keywords=Silver-Coated+Beryllium+Copper+Compression+Spring

Not the exact type of springs that we want but they would fit some mods?

These might be a better size if cut to length.

I might have a European lead on them. A small danish company specialises in springs for electrical breakers and such. They have ... similar to what we want but not quite.. It may take a single run of them. They do not list MOQ on their site but mentions that it is subject to order details.

Edit: Missing letters and halfwit sentenses. I am tiired!

Funny you're onto that, I asked for a quote from a dutch company also, two days ago. Haven't heard back from them yet, I fear for a steep price...

There are a couple of sellers of BeCu springs on Ebay right now… they look about the right size for a lot of lights.

I tried to find them on ebay and could not find them. Link?

The quote I asked is for 10mm diameter base, 5mm top, 15mm hight 1mm wire thickness conical spring made of beryllium copper. No answer yet.

There seem to be a number of companies that might do this. Here is one.
