A purple SK68 for my wife?

:stuck_out_tongue:

Wow.... IMO $30 bucks seems overpriced for that.

That’s perfect!

Yep that seems overpriced. i3s is better in my opinion.

I once had to pick up my wife’s Hyundai Getz after it had a service - the girl at the front desk starts calling out “the lavender getz is ready, lavender getz is ready” as I stand up she says “oh … the purple Getz is ready”.

I have both (in purple, the i3s is more flashy purple, the swm a bit less glossy and in my opinion nicer purple) and alltough the i3s turns more smoothly, i’m a bit dissapointed in the light it puts out. The swm is supposed to be only 66 lumens, but i can’t see any difference between that and the i3s wich is rated at 80 lumens. The swm is more neutral white too…

But only partially supported by actual data. Here are a couple representations of real survey results:

Results are from here:

and here:

I found it interesting that the most popular color names are mostly the same. Also, the extreme outliers (the most-gendered color names given in the survey) were interesting too (copied from XKCD):

Here are the color names most disproportionately popular among women:

  1. Dusty Teal
  2. Blush Pink
  3. Dusty Lavender
  4. Butter Yellow
  5. Dusky Rose

Here are the color names most disproportionately popular among men:

  1. Penis
  2. Gay
  3. WTF
  4. Dunno
  5. Baige

(to clarify, #5 was actually a very popular misspelling made by the people who took the survey)

Here is a good example of Purple:

That Maglite looks more violet to me than purple. I have two ‘purple’ Maglites, one is quite lilac, the other richer but not as deep violet as yours.

That almost doesn’t look real.

I love purple, but I think I’d rather have a copper or brass Maglite:

Its clearly Eggplant :stuck_out_tongue:

I don’t feel too bad about that; this thread seems to have outlived its usefulness, so now it’s devolving into a playground. There just aren’t that many purple lights available, and nearly everything relevant has already been posted.

Now if you’d settle for a nice purple spot in the output ….

That made me lollerskate all around the room.

Obviously it's somewhere between:

velociraptor cloaca

and

maybe a half hour before the first start star showing up in the night sky

Maybe. Could you add a tinge of green? (I want it to feel like I’m in a bad horror)

The good news is I bought her 2 of them. This H60 one http://www.aurabuy.com/new-h60-cree-xp-e-q5-3-mode-270lm-white-zoom-flashlight-torch-purple-1-14500-1-aa.html and this 501b from the same site http://www.aurabuy.com/ultrafire-wf-501b-cree-xm-l-t6-3-mode-385-lumen-white-light-memory-led-flashlight-torch-purple-1-18650.html I found the H60 cheaper on other sites but they’d have a photo of the purple one but the item details would say in comes in like 5 colors with no way to choose. So I ended up doing my first Aura Buy purchase. Found a 5% off & free tracking coupon code on slickdeals that worked.

Now as for guy/girl colors. I’m there. Mauve, Taupe, all these horrible color descriptions. The 7 primary colors are like red, blue, green, white, black, camo and gay. That’s all the colors anyone needs…

My kids are half Filipino ages 6 and 7. One is dark with black eyes and straight hair, one is light with brown eyes and curly hair. They will tell you “I’m brown like Mommy” or “I’m white like daddy”. I don’t think they’ll ever understand prejudice based on skin color since everyone in our family is a different shade  Here they are: http://lotsoffun.org/gallery/index.php/Kids-2013
