Anybody tested Trustfire X9, beamshots?

Don't know if the UCL wil not rattle, is only 1.90 mm thick, the standard lens is 4 mm thick

Take two, then nothing will rattle

Or both will Laughing

Opps....yeah must consider that. Does the O-ring sit in the same position as the Sky Ray 3xT6 or similar torch? So that you need to put pressure onto the O-ring for waterproofness. Can just unscrew the bezel a bit and shake it.

Don't have yet the Sky Ray 3xT6 (on its way...)

The SZOBM 3xT6 and the TR1200 are different, this are drop-in and the reflector is screwed into the bezel.

With the X9, the O-ring is just in place when the bezel is screwed tight (It's a kind like the UF 980L, but the X9 O-ring is not so thick)

Here are the tailcap readings:

Battery: eX-cell 3100

Voltage loaded: 4.16 V

High: 3.34A, drops after 30 sec to 3.24 and is stable

Mid : 1.39A

Low : 0.28

After 45 min on high:

Voltage cell = 3.52V

High : 2.01A

Mid : 0.79A

Low : 0.16A

Body gets warm, but less than the 980L

grts.....

Thank you Thommy.

Not very enthusiastic over Mid and Low placement.

Well my TF X9 arrived today!!! Shipped on 7/18 came 7/21 from HONG KONG!! Fastest shipping Ive ever had come from China!! Here is the link of the ebay seller: Five stars for cyberport888!

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=300576496586&ssPageName=ADME:L:OU:US:1123

The light came very safely packaged, small cardboard box. The X9 was bubble wrapped securely .Along with the light came a nice quality silver lanyard (exactly the same 4sevens gives) and instruction and warranty card. I did notice a very small abrasion on the bezel ( Possibly scratched during packaging) other than that the fit and finish is top notch. Looks alone you would think it cost $100 + but nope only $35.49 AU (Bought off Ebay AU). Threads were dry but that's a easy fix (Applied super lube). Reflector was free of any artifacts or finger prints as well with the glass lens.

After reading the instruction manual , voltage range printed said 4.2V-8.4V so i trusted their word but i got burnt ! I used 2x Solarforce 16340 both were measured at 3.9V (7.8V). Light turned on seemed fine, changed modes fine, until i took a tail cap reading.. 5.1 amps! I knew this was really high. I heard a buzzing sound so i turned off the light and took out the batteries. Next i put in a fresh 18650 flame, light turned on but would not change modes, only stayed on hi.

What do you think happened? I'm still learning so all the help is greatly appreciated.

After looking at manafont they state voltage range is up to 4.2V, I should have looked there first!

Oh well 1 mode will work for now.

Should've trusted the word of that dude who said it was direct drive above. :p

Srsly, that sucks, dude. You can try to ask them why they gave you bad instructions.

Thanks....dick

Hey, don't take it out on me, blame it on the folks who gave bad instructions.

OK, i was a bit harsh. Sorry but as a i said i'm still learing. Take it easy dude.We learn from our mistakes.

Is it safe to say X9 throws better than UF 980L? Any other XML based light that throws further that's single 18650 and in same price range?

Yes it throws better that the 980l. The x9 compares very close to my tk41. the tk41 is still a little bit brighter.

once my video uploads i'll post here. Title will be fenix tk41 vs trustfire x9. Just a quick look at both side by side in my backyard, note my yard is not very large.

Video not the best , hope you guys like ! Thanks to my 5 yr old son for a second hand holding the tk41.

Starting him young I see! TK41 has nicer tint imo.

Yup you have too, he's got a couple of lights of his own...disneys cars flashlight, cheap 9 led with laser, 2d rayovac incan and my old streamlight stylus pro.

I bought it from the same seller for only $33.48 by bidding.

I wonder if anyone has a x8 to compare to. That seems a better value imo for not much more w/ a regulated driver (1 or 2 cells), but it was dwarfed yet still by the Skyray stlv2.
