For me "eneloops" is the same as "genuine eneloops".

OTOH, if I see "eneloop-type batteries" I know it can be anything. But the previous two are synonyms for me.

I got my shipment from lightake today. So the positives are they shipped pretty quickly (12 days Hong Kong to Atlanta) and for free, it was easy to set up an account and purchase a light, and they take PayPal so you have some protection if the item isn't as described. The item I bought was listed as a Solarforce L2 with extension tube for a second 18650 battery for only $10.82 which is unbelievably low. I even asked Daniel here if it was a genuine Solarforce and he assured me it was. But it is definitely fake. He also sells more expensive Solarforce lights which may be the real thing. I don't know if Daniel realized they were fake, but he should have found out rather than just say it was genuine. As a P60 host, even a fake Solarforce is pretty good, so I'm not going to ask for a discount or my money back, but I'm only giving him 3 stars.

I'm really sorry brted ,when you asked me weather the solarforce body is genuine or not ,i have confired to our supplier ,and he tell me that it is genuine,so i reply you it is genuine.but when more and more people asked the same question ,i notice that the supplier must tell a lie to me ,I'm really sorry for that. Please forgive our mistake.

Daniel

Apology accepted. It would make it seem more sincere if you would remove the fakes from your website or at least modify the description to warn people that they are not actually Solarforce hosts.

I personally don't mind buying fakes, as long as they are clearly labelled as fakes. Often fakes are "good enough" for me and they cost less. It's when they purport to be the real thing and I buy it expecting the real thing as brted was that it's really irritating. Or if they sell the fake for the same price as the genuine item, that's also unacceptable.

I agree, though I think it's better to label them (at the factory; if they've already printed Solarforce on them you just have to sell them as fakes) as Uniquefire L2, Ultrafire WF-504B, etc. which are the same thing as these fake Solarforce bodies. Even with an off-brand name, these could still be worthwhile purchases.

I have originals and prefer the look/design of the copies will probably buy one just so I can give my mom one without a sharp bezel.

Thanks brted , and i will follow your advice !

Removing them completly would be a shame. They are such nice hosts for such a low price. Maybe lightake can ask the manufacturer to just not print "Solarforce" on the bodies and maybe do new neutral product photos for the website. Maybe a new lightake.com brand ? "Randomfire" would be a good name ;-)

or "Lightfire" haha

It's a fake SolarForce so I kind of like what brted called it.........SolarFARCE. Laughing

A special promotion will began today !,please hurry up ! 10 % discount !

Decided since it was payday yesterday I'd treat myself to a Trustfire Z1 and one of the MrLite AAA lights. Now to see how soon they get to me. Anything under two weeks will be very good as the post from HK can easily take longer than that. I have an idea of the profit margin on the second one and they aren't losing money on it even with the 10% discount.

I've always been astonished by how no retailer will ever reveal their profit margin, I do not have a problem with people making a profit, even a big profit. My father was once MD of a company (AURIS) selling the world's first MRI scanners. They cost around $300,000 to build and were selling for in excess of a million dollars (1980 prices). But the medical market doesn't care about price by and large.

Don, you said you work in a hospital. Are you a doctor?

I'm a pastor in a psychiatric hospital. However, I used to be a chemist.

Along the way I've been several other things too.

Labourer

Student

Printer of colour photographs when this was difficult and expensive. And most of those doing the job were evidently completely colour blind.

Failed photographer

Camera salesman

Unemployed

Lab technician in a sewage works among other places

Missionary

Chemistry Teacher - and physics and biology which was tricky since I'd last studied it when I was 11 years old.

Pastor - 23 years and counting

Mac repairman - 20 years and counting

Printing industry computer fixer - this is not a good way to earn a living.... Getting paid two years late is not unusual - and then only after threats of legal action. It does mean I don't have to pay for paper or most print jobs though.

Computer network fixer - 15 years and counting

Dental practice software fixer - I'm the only person I know who expects to get paid when I go to the dentist. May those responsible for Kodak's R4 software have bad things happen to them!

ISP employee briefly in 1994-6 till it went bust. What I actually did was make machines connect to the Internet for customers. I still curse MacTCP in my sleep. And really don't ask about all the broken variants of WINSOCK.DLL out there. I try not to swear much these days.

Student again - part time. Second go at a doctorate.

WOW Don!!! A TRUE Jack of all Trades. Impressive! (bow down smiley - which we don't have yet)

Yes very nice Don. What doctorate are you going for?

Nice Don !

just bought romisen rc-c8 at www.lightake.com
but the order is missing.

I ordered one more than a month ago and it took 21-22 days from actual shipping date to arrive. No tracking number as for under 15$ you don't get one. Anyway, standard bubblewrap packaging and arrived intact. I believe you'll like it but you'll have to wait. Personally i won't buy from lightake anymore due to recent posts about unsatisfactory RMA handling. Maybe if i really want something others don't have and most certainly not just to save a few cents.

I believe LT is okay till you got a problem with a defective product. Did i mentioned sluggish shippment time? They need about 30% more time than DX and DX isn't known for their speed either.

I think you will like the RC-C8 as i do. It has flaws but overall is worth the money.
