"Super" XinTD C8 V4

super xin td Anyone here purchased the “super” and had a chance to use it? I have the regular version, and I think it has lived up to all the praise it received. Lately I’ve been using it on my ar-15 without any issues. That along with being dropped a few times it’s definitely takes a lickin’. So when I saw what appears to be an improvement, I just had to order the Single mode 5A CW version.

Thanks,
Steve

This would deeply interest me if I did not already have a Convoy L2 host ready and a 5A driver on the way.

I’m looking forward to your comparison review. I hope you have a battery that will drive it at its maximum current.

Yes, I purchased one a few months back, and I’m very happy with it. I went for the 3 mode, 5A dedome option. It is crazy bright! Comparing it to all my other C8 including those that suppose to run at direct drive, the hot spot is crazy bright and it throws like crazy for a flashlight of it’s size. You won’t be disappointed!

Wow I have got to say this is awesome. Being able to get essentially a fully customised light with so many different options, straight from a retailer is fantastic. I don’t need one at the moment as I already have an XinTD C8 V4 which I have played around with. However for someone not wanting to mod themselves this is a great option/service to have available.

I have the Convoy C8(http://www.banggood.com/Convoy-C8-AK47-7135+8-8-Modes-White-Light-LED-Flahslight-p-908245.html) and the “Super” XinTD C8 V4 (http://www.mtnelectronics.com/opencart/index.php?route=product/product&path=80&product_id=164)

The “Super” XinTD C8 V4 is the 5a CW version and is twice as bright with more than twice the throw than the Convoy C8, and the Convoy is very bright! To give an example,…there is a horse barn about 300 yards from my house, the Convoy can just light it enough to make out it is a building, the “Super” XinTD C8 lights it up enough to count the boards on the sides! At lesser distance the Convoy C8 is still noticeably dimmer but at distance the “Super” blows the Convoy away. I am feeding both lights Samsung 20’rs,…if your not using high drain capable batteries the difference in the lights is much less.

thats amazing. but i think $50 for a c8 is getting quite pricey.
so its still alot brighter than the convoy huh even with the domes off? does it have more flood and spill too?

Actually for the customization done to it, it’s a bargain. Try doing all the mods yourself. Time yourself. Then tell me what your labor is worth. And see if you break even after buying the light at dealer cost, maybe $20-25, and subtracting time spent modding the light times what your labor rate is.

Starting at $50 for the type of modding that’s being done is quite a deal. I certainly wouldn’t sell my own labor at such a discount.

you can count the boards from 300 yards away? :open_mouth:

so you didnt get the dedomed version? do you have the c8 from lightmalls?
thats the brightest and furthest throwing stock c8 around i believe.
i wish you had one to compare with your new super xintd

I have both the light malls C8 and the Super Xin, I assure you the Super Xin throws much further than any C8 I have. I have about 8 different ones. Again I went with the 5A de-dome version. It instantly became one of my favorites in my collection. To get that much throw in such a small package is amazing to me. I think the cost for the custom mod is very reasonable quite honestly for what he does to it, I’d end up trashing 2-3 flashlights to get to something like this. Mountain is taking all the risk, and he still guarantees his work for 30 days. That’s well worth the price to me!! You should get his Small Sun mod too. It’s even brighter and throws further than the Super Xin!! Mine came in putting 5.7A at the tailcap!! Pretty good to me!

Yes, RMM's modded XinTD C8 is a bargain. I would certainly charge more than $50 for one, and I would try to clear $20-$25 or so, for hours of work -- not a money maker for sure. RMM has the advantage of paying a wholesale price for the light (and parts), not a big savings I would think, but it helps, besides being quicker, younger than me .

I was going to, but didn’t have the extra cash to spare. Who knows that might be my next purchase. Don’t have the C8 (Convoy?) from lightmalls, just the stock Xintd.
It appears I made a wise choice as the “super” lives up to it’s name. Now I’m really looking forward to it’s arrival!

Thanks,
Steve
