Flashlight for my bike

What about this holster http://www.dealextreme.com/p/large-flashlight-holster-1152?

I have 3 of those drop ins

http://www.dealextreme.com/p/cree-xml-t6-5-mode-6700k-450-lumen-smooth-aluminum-drop-in-module-with-textured-reflector-55026

and 3 of those bike mounts

http://www.dealextreme.com/p/universal-bicycle-mount-for-flashlights-and-gadgets-2cm-3cm-diameter-adjustable-15642

If you look at the comments on the drop in that I posted on the DX site the first one I recieved was under driven AK47 1.4 amps but the last 2 I got came with ultrafire direct drive drop ins 3+amps.

Those bike mounts are super heavy duty I bought one and then 2 more they work excellent for off road they don't move at all when tightened and have been holding up very well. Shiningbeam sells the same ones for a lot more money.

Sorry Biker and Triker we must be confusing the hell out of you.

I'll post a picture of my bike to change the subject in typical BLF fashion.

504B fits well in this http://www.dealextreme.com/p/nylon-flashlight-case-w-cover-2-pack-1374 (is it possible to buy 1 ore 2-pack). I think that "large" edition would be too big :)

Regarding this under driven thing: Is there a big differnce in the light output between under and direct driven?
I would like to have as much as as possible in hi mode. I still got the med and low mode for extending batterie's life.
Or will there araise a problem with heat havin 3+ amps?

Btw how many amps got the drop-in which comes with the 504B from DX?

I will try the mount that E1320 uses because it looks very solid to me, more than the other one does. E1320 very nice bike. When your flashlights don't move riding this bike appropriately off-road than it will also hold on my bike. Only thing is that the bike is remarkably clean..;)

I prefer this http://www.dealextreme.com/p/large-flashlight-holster-1152 as it is closed on the bottom.

Is this one also available with Euro plug? I can't find it.

Yes DX will send the correct plug for the country they ship it to.

Tonight a friend of mine showed me his Powerlight HX-G011 which was quite cheap.

Yes, it must have been cheap as the light output is defintely bad and ugly blue to purple.
How much better is the 504B in comparison?

But it was good that I tested this flashlight. The Powerlight has a reverse clickie and I realized that reverse is absolutely okay. The clikie is not as loud as feared and you can handle it very fast.
Overall the handling seems easier and smoother to me as this of a forwrd cklickie.

That means I will buy the complete 504B from DX.

How many amps got the dropin of the 504B?

Lol 118 posts. With all due respect, buy one already!! =P It's not rocket science, and I'm sure you'd be satisfied with just about any of the setups mentioned.

No rocket science, but still not so easy to get the best bang!

@ E1320: You have lately received some 504B from DX. Are they under driven, too?

Regarding the XM-L 6T dropin you have ordered seperately you wrote that the last ones ordered are direct driven.

So should I better order the XM-L dropin from DX and the 504B host from Manafont (as it is not available at DX)?

Triker serious man I have posted multiple times that DX stopped delivering the under driven drop in months ago you must be having a blast trying to confuse this poor guy. I posted a link on DX of my review of the drop in I posted a picture of 4 of these lights that I own poor Biker is getting seriously frustrated.

Triker do you own a 504B from DX with the DX drop in?

Triker do you own a new 5 mode drop in from DX?

Triker if you can answer yes to these questions please take your DMM and measure tailcap amperage on high so we can stop the nonsense.

I have a theory that DX was using XPG drivers when the XMLs first came out until they could source the right drivers for them that is why the under driven XML is no longer available from DX.

Biker I own this setup it works great the drop in is not under driven it is the same direct drive driver that Manafont, KD and DX all use. This drop in delvers over 3 amps on high about 800 lumens.

I am happy with this setup. This is the cheapest way to get the most light.

I am sorry you had to PM me because people are purposefully trying to confuse you I am not posting anymore. If someone asks you about a product you don't own tell them that don't make stuff up.

Thanks for this clear statement E120!

I absolutely trust your recommendations as should have most experience having ordered several 504Bs and using them for biking, too.

So I will will order the complete 504B from DX and hope that I also will receive a direct driven version.

@ Be-Seen Triker: Have you ordered a 504B or a XM-L 6T 5-mode dropin lately? E1320 is right: It makes non sense to give statements without owning this flashlight/ this dropin and having made your own experience.

I have purchased them in hosts and just as a drop in I have a theory that DX was using XPG drivers when the XMLs first came out until they could source the right drivers for them that is why the under driven XML is no longer available from DX.

Yes, I ordered the complete package from DX on Sunday - splitted in 2 shipments in order to avoid paying import dues.
I hope it won’t take too long until I receive the shipment.
I will advise once I have tested the flashlight for the first time.

While waiting for the delivery, can you please advise if and how I should do anything regarding the heat dissipation of the dropin?
Is there somewhere a how to here in the forum? I couldn’t find anything.

Wrap the drop in with foil so it fits tightly in the host to help with the heat dispersion.

Don made a nice tutorial here.

here is more info

Edit: I fixed the links.

Thanks for your replies.
@ E1320: The links are not working. What key words shall I search for to find these threads?

Thanks for fixing the link, E1320.
I received the first pouch today with the batteries and the charger.
Unfortunately the charger has the wrong plug. So do they automatically pack a US plug and not the required country plug @ DX? Or shall I claim the wrong plug?
The other thing is that the batteries didn’t arrive welded in plastic foil, but in a damaged and scratched plastic case.
I wonder if I have received used batteries or if DX usually ships the batteries in a plastic case? Shall I claim this to get brand new batteries or (if I did receive brand new ones) to get a acceptable plastic case?

They should have included the correct plug by the location on your order. Definitely notify DX ASAP so they can send you the right plug. The batteries should have been shrink wrapped in plastic, I am sure they were damaged during shipping some of the packages I have received from them have been very beat up.
