Tmart Group Buy - Closed

Great big “Thanks” going out to Justin for setting up this group buy. We hope you do it again! You set up a great deal for a good number of us BLF members. Mine was only— $21.79. You are the man!

I was surprised how fast mine was shipped and received (today Friday, I grabbed it out of the mailbox before the wife found it).

I got a TangsFire, and am very happy with it. Nice build, quality, threads, glass lens, modes, etc. My brightest light to date no doubt. (My SkyRay King seems as bright, but of course does NOT have the same throw/hotspot).

My only complaint is the rattle using the included sleeve with a 16650 cell if shaked back and forth. Anyone else notice this? Any easy solution? Minor problem, not really a big deal for such a great light at this low price.

Still trying to convince Old Lumens to take a needed vacation, and visit us and some of his old boy-hood haunts he remembers in Upstate New York. A long way from Texas for sure, but maybe a day fishing in one of the Finger Lakes, or one of his favorite trout streams near Springwater is worth it? Just ribbing you, but you would deserve the time off for sure.

Thanks for all your efforts to BLF.

If its like the sleeves I have, fatter o rings might help. If its not like those sleeves, get those sleeves, and then fatter o rings. :stuck_out_tongue: Oh, my sleeves have o rings, did I mention that?

I may need to take an inventory of my o rings that I have on hand. That may help me, thanks to you Ejected.

Just stop shaking the flashlight already!

My TangsFire came yesterday and after tightening the the loose pill and lubing the threads I get 4.8 amps with a King Kong 26650. A quick test shows about 44,000 cd, so I guess I’ll order an XML2 on a Noctigon and some 22 AWG wire from Mountain Electronics.

Edit: It needs some serious heatsink work. It starts out at 58K cd and falls rapidly to 44K in 15 seconds.

Just got my Tangsfire and it’s perfect timing. I built an FET driver for it yesterday using the first BLF FET 17mm Direct Drive board and put it together with an XM-L2 U2 1D on a 16mm Noctigon in one of the last of Ryan’s copper pills.

With an Efest 26650 is does 4.80A, with an Efest 35A 18650 it does 5.51A …both of those were well rested and in the 4.14V range.

Thanks Justin!

For those of you who got the wrong driver or got the right driver, but it is faulty, or only does low amps, please PM me.

In your PM to me, include the following:

  1. Order number
  2. Date you ordered
  3. Date you received it
  4. Exactly what the problem is (Example:) " My light will only put out 1 amp on high, with the East092 driver." OR "My driver was not an East092 driver, it was an XXXX driver (include the numbers on the driver if you can)"

According to my contact, a replacement light or money back can be done.

For those of you that have some other issue, then PM me and I will see what I can do.

first class service OL!

I didn’t got mine - is there a deadline?

There was a limit on the number of lights and not everyone got one ordered in time.

I got one no name and it is shipped, but did not arrive in Austria

as soon as I have it in my hands I will give feedback what is in the box

Oh nice, tks OL. My giftee decided a different light was better (TRJ-3T6) so I’m ending up with the light again, and its got no difference in output on KingKong vs Trustfire 26650 and pwm noise on high, so I’m certain its not the “good” driver or “faulty”. Is there a time limit on this return? (not sure if I’ll be able to get back to it and apart right away to get this info) Will we have to pay return shipping? Not to be cheap but…most of the time you may as well buy a new light in this price range instead if so, in that case a partial refund would be better.

I would say, the sooner the better. I do not expect anyone to have to pay shipping. I am sure they will just send a new light or you can just have the refund. Not worth it for anyone, to ship anything back.

so sorry about what you said.

We are discussing with manufacturers.

Please help me tell other members who dont received right flashlight. we will resend the right flashlight with East-092 or return money.

Thank you very much

Anybody with an issue reply to Old-Lumen's post #137 above ^^^^^^^^^

Received my no name one!
Nice light, looks good. Seems to have good output.
I tried to measure tailcap current but it looks like my multimeter is not capable of doing that anymore, can’t get a reading anymore. But there is no PWM on high, there is on other modes.
So I assume I got the right thing?

Don’t have the time right now to check up how to remove the driver to see if it really is what it should be.

Just pop the head off the battery tube, and look at it from the spring side, if its dark blue, its likely the EAST092 driver. My no name was, and it works fine, seems to have good throw. Not that I have another HD2010 to compare it too.

And I just held the pill in my hand, and used a pointy punch to spin the retaining ring out.

Alright…. That was easier than I thought.

So this is the wrong driver I guess.

Hi

Dumb question but should the no-name 2010 have a Centering ring over the LED?
Just took my 2010 apart after re-watching the modding video, because beam is way weaker and fuzzier than my Ultrafire HD2010 maybe half as bright and not in focus.
I notice that the dome on the LED has on one side a rough/scuffed/haze on the surface. Is that just the luck of the draw or could it be from not having a centering ring around the LED?

My no name has the centering ring. Your star looks not to be firmly fixed down either.

Yep, that's the suspect driver.

There is adhesive under the star, but because they forgot the centering ring, the star didn’t get pressed down against the pill by the reflector so the adhesive is a thick blob that probably isn’t transferring the heat very well.
