Mini review of MINI :D

Found a photo sensative version.

This would be perfect task/mood/down lighting in my car. Already have the double usb adapter begging for something like this. Which one will get BLF approval??

$1,66 shipped:

I bought mine on ebay but I got the last one, will se with the seller if he will offer them again but it is the same as on other links here

Yes but it’s the cheapest one, that’s why I posted this link.

That’s pretty slick.

Says $2.15 shipping for me.

It may depend on where you are. I just bought one for $1,66 shipped.

EDIT. I just checked. Shipping is free basically everywhere except US and Mexico.

“Beamshots” added

Thanks for the night shots. It looks really impressive.

Now that’s a good one for my wallet, and I’ll need one for my PC, and car, and I guess I could just get a half dozen.

Hmmmm with a USB to micro adapter could this be a low draw option for phone?

I doubt it, I checked my phone and tablet, usb ports are not powered, maybe they can only accept charge (and data) via usb port!

Thanks for the mini-review! I had to get one. I already have this one from FastTech but it is too bright for a nightlight (maybe replace that 22R0 resistor).

Here is a “beamshot” at 1 metre, 100 ISO:

You can see it puts out a lot of light.

I also ordered this one’s but I did not receive them yet.

I ordered one from this seller for $3.56 free shipping

I am assuming he is talking about an OTG adaptor?

what is the PWM like?

You’re welcome  22R0 is 22 ohms, so it’s not some ultra low value, I would try to get 20-50 (or even 100 ohm) trimpot.

OTG or not it is just an adaptor, if there is no current in a USB port adapter cannot make it. Or maybe I am wrong!!!
Either there is no PWM or it is very fast because, when looking through the camera, there is no flickering at all, no matter what intensity of light I set.

The adapter signals an OTG device (through the usb ID pin) to switch into host mode. Only then will the OTG device start to supply current. You can also sometimes switch into host mode without an adapter.
Not all phones or tablets support usb OTG / host and some that do support OTG don’t even supply any real current when in host mode.

what happens if you wave it around fast? any flickering?

edit: a few more questions…

- what size led is it? a 3014?

  • when you say you can run it off a li-ion, do you mean a battery or a 5v battery bank?

I wonder what that MCU that is controlling the PWM is…love the ramping feature though…most awesome!

way freeking cool…the one I got, is pretty much off or on…but can run an INCREDIBLY long time on a single 18650 portable power supply
