"Genuine OEM Energizer Ultimate" from eBay

pls Keep this thread updated, so we will know if they are worth buying!!!

looks like a pretty good deal, even though the wrapping isnt so appealing..:)

A few more measurements:

MF UF XM-L in L2i with 3 eneloops: 1.8A

Akoray K-106: Alkaline - 0.7A, GP ReCyko+ 0.8A, OEM Ultimate 1A but sags quickly to 0.9A.

I've also measured lux @ 70cm: XM-L with eneloops: 15000 lux (1.8A 4.2v), with OEM Ultimates 10000 lux (1.4A 4.8v).

Akoray K-106: Alkaline - 1300 lux, ReCyko 1600 lux, OEM Ultimate 1900 lux.

I don't have any AA eneloops so I can't test whether they are brighter for the Akoray.

Do you have Energizer Lithiums? it would be nice to compare them "head to head".

I don't, and they are quite expensive here.

They sell them 2 for 10$... But maybe I'll buy some out of curiosity. Then again, maybe not.

Damned expensive - lithiums are ..

If these offer decent performance - they could be good ...[ A lithium test would cost more than a bunch of flashlights ! ]

Can they be discharged in a Hobby charger [ dont see why not ? ]

What the hell ! , $4.20 shipped - ordered a 4 pack of AA - Will try and discharge one with the hobby charger or Powerex

Heyyy, good idea.

Have for some reason tried to discharge primaries but Maha says Resistance too high.

Energizer Lithiums seem to work...

Any suggestions about what discharging current should I use? :)

Got some genuine Lithiums hanging around, OEM´s are not here yet.

Edit: started now. Discharging @100mA, starting voltage 1,783V. Exp.: 03-2023.

Just had a idea... Could these be just outdated Energizers without a date stamp?

These are marked in the listing as expiring on 2024, which means 13 years shelf life.

Energizer states 15 years shelf life (at 21 degrees C).

But in the stores I see Ultimates with '23, '24, '25 expiration year, selling at full price, so I don't think half price (or less) can be attributed to a few years less shelf life.

Here's some weights of various cells I have:

AA Alkalines:

Duracell - 24.7g
Sony - 23.1g
GP - 23.0g
Ikea - 23.2g

AA Rechargeables

Sony Cycle Energy - 27.1g
Sanyo 2500 - 29.5g
Samsung 2300 - 28.3g
Dynacharge 1800 (duracell) - 26.3g

Energizer E2 - 14.9g

I wonder how well those blue AAA's perform as I've never tried AAA E2's. Frankly, I've never seen them before.

Yep, true.

Again, have these even been on market for 10 years yet :D

Just to make a note, also 8-pack seems to be available from same seller.

These are blue, wondering if there´s difference?

I don't think the color matters.

I think he gets them in random colors. He contacted me after he sent me the batteries to apologize for sending a different color than in the pictures (I think one of them was advertised as grey).

Anyway, there's another seller who shows all kinds of colors for his batteries: http://cgi.ebay.com/4-Energizer-Ultimate-Lithium-AA-Batteries-OEM-Wrapped-/280686213838?pt=US_Batteries&hash=item415a33bace :)

As a regular user of Energizer Lithium Ultimate AA batteries as a backup for photo flashes I'm really interested in the performance of OEM Energizers. For now I have a stock of retail Enerizers so I don't thimk I'll be buying them anytime soon. As for the price of Energizers I found them on sale at a local store for 2,99€ per pack of two batteries (AA that is)

Wow 2 pack for EURO 2.99 is a pretty good deal.
I found the 4 pack in Holland about 5 months ago for 5 euro.. on sale...

lowest Ive seen them in Holland...

Here in Japan I have never seen them for a good price.

Here in Finland I once saw them about 1€/pcs in packs of 6. Bought only one...........

Regular price is I would guess around 2€/pcs. So, this eBay price is indeed very nice!

Today I saw the lowest price on alcalines ever, 1€/4pcs, about 1,45$ for 4. Regular price for good alkies is about 2+€ -> 4€ /4pcs.

If I compare these OEM-Energizers to regular priced alcalines, I would say there´s pretty much no point AT ALL to use a single alcaline any more for these prices.

Hope the people who receive them, can test them, and see how "good" they are.

I tested the original Energizer with MAHA to get reference.

When discharged at 100ma, I got 3062mah from it with ending voltage after a while 1,350V.

After this, I got usable light on SC51 and Low2 mode for 2 hours. Then voltage was some 0,6V.

will post when I get OEM´s. It will take some weeks, I guess.

OEM´s arrived.

Initial voltages:

1,819V

1,775V -> discharge test @ 100ma

1,781V

1,882V

So, I´m now doing discharge on the worst one to see, what I can get out of it.

Quite a bit variance in there...

15min discharge behind and cell is already at 1,34V. Original took half-a-day to get there so it´s not looking very promising.

1,815

1,816

1,811

1,812 Were the readings from a pack of original Energizers.

From what I can tell from + and - ends, positive end looks just like in Original Energizer.

On negative end, there seems to be very faint "brush" on the surface. You cannot notice this unless you try to do like a reflection with them. OEM´s negative end is more matte in finish.

Will post more soon.

Propably will also order more soon, to test or use as a budget batts :)

Thanks for the info,

will be waiting for the results..

I bought several of these from different sellers from ebay and tested one, it seems to be genuine as it did more than doubled the runtime of eneloops in my D10.

D10 R2 on High
Regular Alkaline: 25mins
Eneloop: 40mins
Energizer Lithium AA: 90mins
