[Sold out] 8 Purple Samsung ICR18650-28A $10 shipped

Haha!
No on both counts. The only redwoods left in redwood city are installed on people’s decks…
Just returning a favor in kind that has been extended to me many times as a lurker. $2 Sipik, $13 Tangsfire C8, $25 6x Skyray, battery packs from in and out computers… Not to mention the wealth of information that has been freely provided for a new found hobby.

Well, it wouldn’t really be so bad even if so, as long as the cells are new and good condition, its still a deal. Tks Siskiyou. Like I said I already bought some of these previously and they have been good cells over many recharges (and a bit pricier too).

My thanks too Siskiyou, but I have to point out the significance of your chosen location.

“Behind the Redwood Curtain” makes reference to the Classic Movie “Wizard of OZ”. The actual phrase in the movie was “pay no attention to the man behind the curtain”

Here is the dictionary definition of the phrase:

the man behind the curtain

Noun.

A phrase used to describe someone who is in the background secretly plotting and conspiring or also a hypocrite of great proportions.

Derived from the movie The Wizard of Oz.

just thought you should know

That’s great! Now I’m a riddle, wrapped in a mystery, inside an enigma… and a very bad wizard.

If you want to amuse yourself further google “behind the redwood curtain”. I assure you I have no association with that vendor either. Further down the search results is an urban dictionary link that will explain everything…

I assumed it was a play on the old cold war “iron curtain”.
Looks like I was right

_Redwood Curtain
(adj) The Redwood Curtain (RC) is the extreme northwestern corner of California, i.e. the coastal counties of Del Norte, Humboldt, and Mendocino. The RC is the norcal version of the Iron Curtain in eastern Europe erected during the Cold War and is mostly used in a derogatory sense, whereby the RC symbolizes the area’s lack of cultural or metropolitan qualities as well as poor transportation access, sparse development, rugged geography, and a weird provincialism among the native locals._

so when the SHTF and the zombie apocalypse arrives, i dont have to find more 18650s… i just have to find one of the BLF members houses that ordered 12 of these packs LOL.

“Behind the Redwood Curtain” has a certain meaning that has NOTHING to do with the Wizard.

I really goofed on that one!

Time expired on the deal, but looks like it's been extended for 4 more days . So to celebrate, I ordered one more!

I ordered one just before the original sale ran out. If it looks good, it’s going to very hard for me to keep from ordering more. Especially with the ENB battery bank I have in transit….

You are right. These cells are perfect for the battery banks. I particularly like the ENB 3 cell. The triangular configuration of the 3 cells makes is compact and additionally it can be used as a charger. Perfect for charging 3 cells at a time for lights like the FandyFire Warrior. And I don’t worry too much about over discharging unprotected cells in the Warrior because it starts blinking when the cells are run down.

Thanks for the heads up…ordered one pack. How easy are they to open up?

Most packs are pretty easy. There is no “correct” way to do it but there are some wrong ways. Don’t just bash them because the protective covers on the cells can be ripped fairly easily. General I pry open at the seem and proceed to snap parts of the hard plastic off as I go.

Thanks Siskiyou, I picked up one pack.

1 left...

Yeah, I just bought 4 more.

I hate you people.

Tom, this my first battery pack. My question is are the batteries connected together with welded tabs? If so, are they easily removed without damage. Do you dremel them off, or just leave them on cutting away as much as possible?
