Not that I can see. Maybe they use it for QC purposes at the factory. I thought maybe it was a magnet but it’s not. Did you get yours from BG? I wonder if there’s any difference between the F6 from the two sellers. The one I got is fantastic.
The tail of the light already has a tripod mount. I tried to take that out of the tail to save weight but ended up scratching it and figured I’d just leave it there.
Perfect condition, I suspect he received it that way.
No complaints about the light aside from that, although the charger head LEDs could be aligned better with the holes (you have to look at an angle to see the light. pretty minor…
Sorry if i missed it in this thread, but could someone post a pic comparing the F6 size to one of the convoy tube lights S2-S8 ? Thanks

Edit:
I found this one in another thread, but others would be nice too. Especially looking for one showing the “head-on” or “Top-down” comparison of head diameters
Really love the form factor of the F6. It would have been my favorite EDC if I had faith it was really waterproof. But after taking out the bottom slug to bypass the spring, I don’t think it is.
Yeah the screw-on ones are my favorite also, but it’s super sturdy…much more than the ones like on the Eagle-Eye X6 or ZeusRay (or similar)
From left to right: Convoy M1, Convoy S2, Roche F6, ZeusRay, Supfire S5. I took the Sk98 out of the line up because mine doesn’t tail stand. Also I replaced the reflector on the F6 and Supfire S5 to 10 degree TIR reflectors, so they look a bit different.
Actually no... Never (yet?) finished the firmware. Had big plans with it, got quite complex, stopped being fun to develop further, other projects became more interesting. Also I had put 2 status LEDs in there, which became somewhat pointless since they stopped producing them with that little plastic window.
I might redesign the driver without those LEDs, but instead with a bit more power. However I'm still not sure what UI to implement.
FWIW, Helios and Comfychair made a nice driver for the Roche F6, called the Ferrero Rocher. It uses a FET for high power, it has red and green indicator lights, and there are three firmwares available for it in my repository. More details are in this thread:
Mine uses a triple Nichia 219B, and it can put out anywhere from 0.1 to 1800 lumens with smooth visually-linear ramping between. I particularly like the realtime battery status indicators, which also act as a standby/locator light in the dark.
I searched for a while to find the version with the battery indicator light. They haven’t made them with that option for a while now and there is no longer a place to purchase one with the indicator stock. But you can always do some modifying if you want that feature.
