NEW !! See last post on Driver Issue: Response from T-Mart HD2010..The Good & The Bad.

Try using scissors!

Sharp idea that one. It might work, but I aint gonna find out. Im off to town to get myself some smaller circlip pliers… and a coffee.

Edit:I ended up getting it out with a fine(ish) point head punch. They are hard to realign without cross threading. Mine is a really dark blue, not green, so what did I get?

Edit 2: I like this new monitor. Im going to photograph everything i need to inspect now, just loaded up a pic of the driver, and clear as a bell, East 092.

so sorry about what you said.

We are discussing with manufacturers.

Please help me tell other members who dont received right flashlight. we will resend the right flashlight with East-092 or return money.

Thank you very much

So how do I go about asking for the refund or getting the correct light sent. Just PM louis huang?

I just mine yesterday. Same no-name light as you.

If you haven't already, please respond to Old-Lumens post #137 in the following thread.

That driver looks exactly the same with this 2-mode direct drive driver from FastTech. :~

Anyway I still haven’t got mine and I hope it will have the correct driver in it.

You are correct Sir. It has the same number as the one I posted.

GK003A6.

I don’t mind getting the “bad light” with XM-L2 and that bad driver

Yup I have the same driver shown above too. It keeps on coming on Medium first for some reason.

i am sure no member of BLF will try to get replacement if he has a good one…

but should we kinda proof a bad Light?
Pictures of faulty part with handwritten Username on paper beside?

beside that: which quantities are we talking about?

Well I think with the send date and your address they can probably check which warehouse it came from and maybe know by that which ones were the crappy ones I’m guessing?

good point!

Tmart will cover the problem with new lights or money back, depending on what you want. Just PM me with the info I requested and I will have Tmart contact you.

I still didn’t receive mine but it’s the same case as with Streamer, ordered on 3/22/14, backordered until 3/27/14, shipped 3/28/14.
I expect it somewhere between next tuesday and friday…

Me too. I ordered six of those “bad drivers” and it ain’t really that bad. You can also mod it to give you higher current. Discussions of this bad driver can be seen here: Direct drive 17mm driver from Fasttech

What size driver 17mm or 20mm?

Might be time for some OSHPark ATtiny 17DD FET drivers
Well that is if they figure out why they are acting odd

Oopsie - though the packaging was herrendous on mine, no damage other than normal HD2010 (qualty issues), and the torn lanyard I don't care about - I usually toss them anyway. The weird white dust cleans up easily also. I'm lucky no major nicks or broken lens - guess when the package gets all tossed around, it landed on other soft packages . Mine came with the East-092 labeled driver, but it will be tossed eventually anyway - hate stock 5 mode drivers.

Got a/the supposedly "bad light" today.. Grey no-name.

XM-L2 and the "bad" driver, or a version of it..

Nice finish on my sample.

Two quick tailcap measurements:

Keeppower 26650 4500mAh Protected @ 4V - 3A

Sony 26650 2600mAh, the green 50A one @ 4,17V - 5,4A (not recommended current on aluminium star, I just did a quick test)

Considering that driver spring is not copper braided and emitter wires are thin, those are nice numbers. Output numbers should be better than an XM-L east092 light. On top of that. The SOS actually says SOS (unlike the east092). Strobe isn't insanely fast (like east092). And mine has a fairly quick off time memory (about 2 seconds, if not less) which is nice. (East 092 starts at full every time, but have a fairly slow memory reset, which can be annoying). Did I say it had an XM-L2??

All in all, better emitter and better driver in several ways IMO.

Ill still mod it and probably change the driver like this in order to get a better UI, low voltage cut off etc. If so, ill probably use this driver for something else..

Like mentioned by others, pill is slightly different compared to a "regular" HD2010.

My only minor complaint would be that there was no o-ring on the pill, and the pill was a little loose. Locating/centering ring might benefit from beeing shortened a little bit... I prefer to have Omten named switch...

Did a quick spring and wire upgrade on the driver and was seeing 6A at the tail... Its pretty much the same as east092 with the proper mods and battery. 6A was with alu mcpcb.. Glad I didnt fry the emitter on my super quick test..

Enough talk, just wanted to say thanks to Old-Lumens for arranging the GB, and to T-Mart for giving me a light that is IMO better value than what I paid for. Thanks for giving me the "bad" XM-L2 version that I got. :p Its great! :D

You lucky bum, you got the good aspects of everything, thats not the “bad” version of anything! By Chinese lottery you could have ended up with the one I got: 2.28A max regular XML with a black scratch of something into the dome, and PWM whines on high (and all) modes :stuck_out_tongue: I think you are in the lucky minority.

Yeah, I was pretty lucky. When that is said, I would probably have been pretty happy with whatever I got. :)

Might be nice for some to know that a non east092 driver can actually be a good thing too in case they want to use stock driver..
