Fasttech - Revised rating.

My last 2 orders from fasttech failed to turn up. They were

  1. UINFIRE B68 Cree XP-E R2 240-Lumen 3-Mode Zooming LED Flashlight ordered on 1 January 2014.
  2. Sanrenmu GR5-605 Folding Pocket Knife ordered on 9 February 2014.

None of them had turned up until today and I of course assumed that they basically didnot ship it or some staff of them took it.

Today on the 10 April 2014, both turned up. I cancelled my claim for 2nd item on the spot but I refuse to refund for the first item. I already got one which I am using as car emergency light.

Lesson learnt:

Positives:

  1. Fastech was very professional and actually refunded me even if my claims made were well past the 45 days paypal limit. They refunded me only by using their tickets support system.

Negatives:

  1. Shipping is way way way too slow. One item took 3 months and 5 days to turn up. The other one 2 months.

Conclusion:
My decision to stop doing business with them on a permanent basis (as I did to dinodirect) no longer stands. I feel that I can give them one more chance and hope things work out smoother.

PS: Love that sanrenmu folding knife! So sweet

Did the refunded order (past 45days) have tracking?

Maybe I’m just lucky since my most recent order was placed on March 30th and arrived and arrived on April 7th.

I don’t think any of my orders have taken more than 2 weeks.

Too bad fasttech wasn’t what it used to be.it was great while it lasted.

No, ordinary shipping (free one)

I haven’t had Fasttech take that long over many orders. CNQG is definitely the worst at 1-6 months wait time, most orders were in the 2-6 mo range.

No problems yet.
But I have 2 orders on the way and just added a 3rd…
I expect them all to arrive within 1½ month, as is usual (to me) with most chinese stuff…

In what country are you ? Fasttech orders usually come in 2 weeks for me.
Fasttech is obviously not responsible for the shipping time but maybe they lied about the date they send it ? For a little more you can have tracking number.

They e-mail you a picture of the item packaged and ready to mail with your address on it along with their “Item shipped” notification.

I live in Mauritius. Google it up. Most of my items from China come within 30 days. 35 days is the max.

Taiwan/singapore within 20-25 days. USA within 25 days. England within 20 days. These wait time are ridiculous. I have no idea how can a package take 3 month to arrive since shipping.

Analyzing shipments with tracking I see most delay after shipping are much more likely to be with US customs and USPS service centers. With my last significant tracked delay, I filed an online claim with USPS since it was clear from tracking that they had the package. Next day the package starts moving and I get an email saying it had been “delayed in customs” (which I already knew from tracking and had showed them in the claim). Can only wonder how many other packages were in the same “delay” bin that was “found” …

I’ve had many orders that took a week or less to ship, then a few days tracking through foreign postal services and then weeks of delay after the US services have custody of them. While I can’t analyze un-tracked packages, I suspect the source problem is the same and those packages get even less priority, resulting in 2 - 6 weeks longer delay than tracked packages.

I’ve had a couple packages where I suspected the label was printed and marked as shipped before being sent. I have yet to find one where the postal info on the envelope and tracking show more than a week delay due to the company or a courier used to transport the package to their tracked postal carrier.

I’ve come to believe the US government is a bigger problem relative to shipping than most of the large foreign businesses I’ve bought from. After many dozen such purchases, the only big exception has been the big lithium delay last fall.

Edit - bad as it is the US government may be better at shipping than some other countries.

I’ve done dozens of orders with FT with no major issues, surprisingly. With the upgraded USPS shipping, most orders get here in about 2 weeks. Knives come a good bit slower since they have to ship those differently—usually about 30 days.

Why are you blaming fasttech, did they do something wrong?
Did they ship with some strange company, did they take months to get your package out of their factory?
From the sounds of it they did everything right, sent your package, and even refunded you after you had no recourse and they could have said too bad.

The postal system is not under fasttech’s control, if it were then i could agree with your line of reasoning

Yea, gotta agree with Bort. Don’t blame Fastech. I’ve had a dozen orders with them over the past 8 weeks and every one was mailed out to me within 1 or at most 2 business days - every single one. Then, almost like clockwork it arrives to me (in USA - 88312 zip) 14 business days later.

My last FT order never arrived. FT marked it as sent but gave no picture of a package.

If you buy over $20 worth of stuff, make sure
A. You use the BLF coupon code
B. Select USPS epacket (if not shipping batteries or knives or e-juice) [otherwise it will go Singapore or Swedish post]

Almost ALL Chinese wholesalers if you order over $20 you get free shipping with tracking, under you have to pay $1.50 for a tracking number

I have over 7 pages of orders completed thru FT…other than last year around Oct when they had the Li Ion cluster hump shipping is around 2 weeks…a month if shipped by the above mentioned “contraband” type shipping

What’s E-juice?

vaping juice…electronic cigarette juice

next will be iJuice…

Ahh, ok. Thanks for bringing the old guy up to speed.

I pretty much avoid buying from China when I want something to deliver quickly 2-5 business days. Used to be a regular fasttech customer during the good times but now I would give an avoid rating. I have had orders not deliver or ship more than a week later even though the item page showed in stock.
I’ve had issues with other websites wallbuys, dx, banggood so I am not here shilling. Just sharing my experience
