I think I will have to pull the trigger on this one, too nice a light
Is there a similar double-switch flashlight in a more pocketable form factor, but still 1x18650? I’m looking for something to get along with this one that sports the same nice UI (which makes momentary-on possible) but smaller, in the same premium-budget category.
Thats a pretty good question. I myself would love a mini version of this Convoy L4 as well. One thing I really look for when buying is the quality of the build. Maybe some BLF gurus can chime in and lets us know of a 'Mini Convoy L4 version, that takes 18650"?
The Yezl Y3 will cure that.
Long thread about it here.
Mine is the best thrower I have with a very well regulated driver. I get the same light output with 1,2, or 3 26650. Haven’t modded it yet. Might become an Mt_g2 light.
3* looks like snow white (or “pure” white) and is ok for general use, where cool white in the 1* or 0* range look blueish or purplish, but 4* and 5* range are warmer and somewhat “vanilla-ish” (lol) which is pleasant and a very noticeably warmer than cool white LEDs, it renders skin tones and foliage better and gives greater depth perception, at the expense of very little luminosity.
I ordered mine on April 4 and is on it’s way from BG. It seems that they bumped up the price and give you the 28% discount. I used the same code and it worked out to be the same price.
It is too bad that I missed Simon’s promo for the L4 for $5.
I wonder exactly how warm the T6-4C is. I actually like the tint of my SRK T6 when I was comparing it with one of my XM-L2 U2-1A flashlights. Was putting both at a bush last night, and the SRK has noticeably better looking colors. I do know that I bought some high CRI XM-L2's a while back and man is the warm color uglyyyyy. I'm definitely more of a cool white/neutral white person
4c will be a neutral tint. I’ve got a few 3c lights and they are okay. I tend to prefer pure cool white 1A and mostly stay away from 5+. A good 1A has no bluish or purple hue to it, just cool pure white awesomeness.
Where you tend to see cool white with purple/blue hue is in cheapo budget lights where they use cheap emitters to save on costs.
There are a lot of pics showing beamshots of different tints; don’t have time to look em’ up though, sorry.
