FastTech SolarStorm SC01/02/03 lights

Which light? The SC01 and SC03 I've had no luck, mentioned earlier... Didn't spend any more time on them though.

I just have seen this

Palight 2014 X4…?
Is palight and solarstorm the same?

There was a thread on the Palight X4 (https://budgetlightforum.com/t/-/25513) - this was mentioned. Body style is a little different, not much. RIC sells the Solar Storm version as well: http://www.cnqualitygoods.com/goods.php?id=2016

No doubt FT is the best deal around on all 3 new models. But if you want a 3C tint though, RIC has it, though you got to pay bout $9 more , plus shipping.

No, NW (XM-L2 T6 3C) is also available from Banggood. At the moment they have a promotioncoupon and the prices are better as the FT prices:
You can choose CW (XM-L2 U2 1A) and NW (XM-L2 T6 C3).
I bought one of the SC02 with NW.

SC01, 1*AA(14500) coupon:bgf164 $14.19

SC02, 1*18650 coupon:bgf170 $14.9

SC03 1*CR123A (16340) coupon:bgf171 $14.19

Oh, cool! Forgot bout BG..

I will not buy another flashlight no matter how pretty it is, I will not.
On the other hand, it’s true that I need more AAs, and this SC01 looks great, but I won’t buy it. I will not.

Damn, this thread… I just bought it.

I just bought neutral SC02 with no good reason (because I already have small 18650 light - Nitecore EC2).

one of us, one of us.

It’s not the first time - I have about 15 flashlights. I use 3 regularly.

Got mine in…from BG payed $19.99

Also got a shipment from FT…had 5 of these in them

For poops and giggles I took my Ganzo multi-tool (also from FT) and unscrewed the front bezel ring, dropped the reflector and lens and o-ring, held it next to the TIR in the housing, wouldn’t you know it almost EXACTLY the same size…gently folded back little tabs holding the plastic TIR insert, dropped the TIR out, lined up the square in the bottom of the holder on the emitter square on the star (which I am going to be reflowing to a 16mm copper sinkpad shortly), then using a small screwdriver tool that is hollow in the end pushed it down where the reflector was sitting and centering it on the XM-L2 on the star, then dropped in the plastic insert TIR and clicked it in the holder, put in the o-ring and then the lens (it was about 1/32” too short, so the lens made it exactly the same size. Tightened down the bezel ring…and voila…instant dropin TIR.

Almost no hotspot, nice wide flood and still very bright even though you loose some light in a TIR.

Just wanted to give you guys a heads up on what seems to be an almost perfect drop in TIR for the SC01.

Just walked around in the back yard, tons of flood and still good out to about 40-50 yards with a 14500, a AA is a little bit dimmer but just like the SK68 the boost mode is always less bright as the linear regulator mode.

Awesome little light

I have to wonder if one of the xpg tripples will fit… and what sort of currents can be squeezed out of the driver.

Isn’t the light floody enough already?

Yeah….I just did it to try it out

I kinda like it with the TIR, maybe because I didn’t use it but 4 minutes with the reflector…hmmm

Damn you all, have been watching this thread and holding back… I couldn’t take it any longer …. ordered the SC03…

Good Day,
.

Could someone that has the Solarstorm SC02, Please let me know if a Panasonic NCR18650B 3400mAh Protected battery will fit in it?
(Fasttech says that maximum battery length is 67mm, But can we trust what they say? )
.
Otherwise Please let me know which battery You use in the Solarstorm SC02.

Ok, has anyone successfully disassembled a SC01? What is up with the extra - wire? I got mine apart far enough to swap out the reflector for a TIR but couldn’t get the pill out (pressed in? because screwing it out ain’t happening)
