Banggood - I won't be dealing with them again

Since I was red flagged at DX. I have been ordering from Banggood. The shipping is faster and I get my items quicker but their customer service failed. My last order was a wireless doorbell. There was a section in the packaging for a small 12 volt battery but it was empty. The description on the website did not indicate whether it came with battery. So I sent an email asking that they look into this.

Banggood customer service was as follows:

Dear customer,

I have checked that the item SKU were shipped together with SKU and SKU on March 12th, could you please wait for more days, i think you will get it soon.

I don’t know if they understood my question or do they not understand English? I received my items but there is a problem but it seems they replied with a standard reply.

When I bought a SRT3 from them and it was getting close to the 45 day PayPal deadline, I got the same kind of a reply, “please wait…”. But really, what more can they do if the mail system is slow Anyways, my light did come before I could file claim.

This story helped put things in perspective for me.

Most American people are wary of Chinese online businesses. They have a bad reputation of stealing your money and not sending you anything. They have a bad reputation of stealing your money and sending you something different. If one Chinese company does something bad, Americans think all Chinese companies are the same.

So, I wanted to let you know what Americans expect:

1.) People here know each other. If you say you only have one item in stock and multiple people here have ordered the same thing, they will consider you a liar. Especially if you send them something else. And they will tell everyone here about it.

2.) Never substitute something else. That is illegal in America. It is called, “bait and switch” If an American buys a flashlight called ABCD123, that you send a 321DCBA people will consider you a liar and a thief. It doesn’t matter if the substitute is better or more expensive. People in America expect to receive what they buy.

3.) If the order takes too long, people will cancel their order. The reason is that many people here order from other companies in China and Malaysia and the items usually ships in one or two days and arrives in two weeks. The last time I ordered from Banggood, I ordered on 3-17 and it shipped on 3-27 and it arrived last week. People think that you took their money and did not send anything.

4.) If you log in, people here can see that you are online. When they send a personal message (PM) to you about an order problem, and you do not reply, people will think that is poor customer service. They do not care how busy you are, they are thinking you are ignoring them and that you are tricking them and stealing their money.

5.) Once people don’t trust you, they never will again. No matter how hard you try to fix it. They will tell all their friends not to trust you.

I would only add to be truthful in your inventories, if you are out of stock, let the buyer know BEFORE he makes the purchase.

So far banggood has given me good service,I hope they continue to do so.

I’m waiting for an order since 1st April. It’s held up because of only one item on backorder, though there was no indication of stock issue when I placed the order. It’s not the end of the world, but three weeks seems a long time to wait. I am tempted now to write again and ask Banggood to cancel the item causing the delay.

Update: Now I feel guilty because I asked them to send the backordered item separately and they were really nice and helpful, and quick to respond too. So really I could have contacted them sooner instead of waiting this long.

Ordered BTU Shocker on April 7 arrived today April 22 on standard free shipping.
BTU in and out of the gift box was well packaged in foam.

I ordered a Convoy L4 from Banggood a few weeks ago. It was my first order from Banggood.

Today the package arrived. They sent a Convoy C8 instead.

I sent them an email, and I will let you all know how they handle it.

Good to see their top notch QC hasn’t changed.
On the plus side you’ll probably get a free C8 out of it to make up for their incompetence.

My first order is over 45 days and counting. Their response was to go ask customs about my package. lol

I just got my D40A today. Pretty good delivery time… 14 days from the day I ordered. It’s not always like that though, my worst order was one day shy of two months.

52 Days and counting since my first order from BG was shipped . Support keeps telling to go to customs and to post offfice without any tracking info to go by.
I have made multiple orders from different vendors from Aliexpress since and received them weeks ago including a battery order.

guess if I want a Convoy C8, I will order the Convoy L4 :wink:

My first L4 I ordered from them shipped the day after ordered, and arrived 8 days after that. Waiting for part 2 of my order now some GU10 globes and other bits.

BG seems to be hit and miss for me.

I have made 6 orders from them.

Roche - never showed up and I got a refund via a paypal dispute. Customer service never even responded to my emails.

Solarstorm XML2 - arrived and was XML… I was given a $2 refund. I took the refund instead of filing a claim because to me personally it wasnt that big of a deal.

Keepower 14500s - great price and arrived in 2 weeks and batterys are great!

Convoy L4 - great price and arrived in 8 days and absolutely no issues - love this light!

Olight - a3t xpg2 - great light, great price, its my edc

Tank 007 - currently in transit

Will I order from them again? I don’t know. It depends on the light and deal. It seems the more options you have to choose from, the more they might screw up the order some how.

I was looking for a USB light on this thread after finding out that KD was out of stock, Neal from banggood very was fast to respond and help out, decided to cancel my order with KD and order from BG instead, light was shipped the next business day, and arrived well packaged in about 10 days and in perfect working condition, Neal also answered questions I had about the tracking number via PM in a timely manner.

To me BG Has been a very good experience so far, and the customer service I recieved from Neal is TOP NOTCH.
