My Dad's flashlight shelf.

I was over at my parent’s house for Easter and my wife brought I nice old fashioned punch bowl to give to my Mom. It’s close to her birthday. Well she went to put it in one of the new cupboards that I had built for my dad and he says, “You can’t put that on that shelf, it’s my Flashlight shelf”.

LOL I have them both hooked on lights now. I started out giving my Mom a SK-68 that I had modded. De-domed XP-G2 on a sinkpad with batteries and a charger. My Dad confiscated it right away. So then I gave him a thrower that went 400kcd and her a 502B modded with an XM-L2 on a sinkpad with a nice three mode no blinky driver. Well he grabbed that one too. Then I got her another 502b and a trustfire mini for her keychain so he can’t steel that one. Then a SRK modded up for her to walk the dog with (or the other way around as he is a big yellow lab).

So long story short they now have a flashlight shelf and batteries and chargers all over.

You're the bad seed.

Apparently.

Nice story. How did the rejected punch go down?

It was fine, Sherbet and Ginger ale.

I think the bowl will end up on the dining room table for now. Until my Mom talks me into building her someplace to put it.

So after reading this I gather that all I need to do is give my fiancee 1 light, then another light, then one more light and she will be a convert? Genius!

It worked with my wife, Only she just steals them now. Or puts them “Away”. That magical place than only women can find.

Great story! I gave my dad a neutral white Xeno E03 that he uses bring the dogs out, he seems to love it. I have a neutral white Solarstorm SC01 on its way that I want to give to my brother, and I’m planning in finding a small and friendly 1xAAA for my mom too. I also gave a friend of mine a Maglite XL100 he told me he used during a power outage (yay!), and I’ll give another SC01 to another dear friend. Of course my wife got a flashlight too, a warm white Xeno E03
The disease spreads through us!
It’s great to give your loved ones something that they’ll love and will make their life easier.

Yep you can never go wrong with giving someone a nice flashlight. They are just about a perfect present.

Good story, I'm jealous!

My parents are not around anymore, and my girlfriend would certainly appreciate the punch bowl (when filled preferably), but will never appreciate flashlights. I gave her one, (a customised beat-blasted ss ITP A3 that I won in a giveaway from ChicagoX) and she never wanted another one.

Thanks, I’m lucky to still have both of mine. They both had very serious health problems and major surgeries. A quad bypass and valve replacement for my Dad and a liver transplant for my mother. They are great-grandparents now and retired but going stronger than ever now. They live close enough that I get to see them all the time and keep an eye on them too.

+1
It’s also great knowing that your friends and loved ones will have light in an emergency. I’ve seen what flashlights non-flashaholics have and it aint pretty.

I recently ordered a pair of Thrunite Ti2 (one for me and one for my wife). She was ambivalent but accepted it. Now she loves her little flashlight. My son was eyeing mine so I decided to give it to him. It brought a smile to his face. It’s just as much fun giving them away as it is keeping them.
