Well, I guess I’m in for one as well, since I really prefer proper slots over the mess of wires & magnets with a hobby charger. If I’m understanding this right, it looks like they addressed the power spike issue within the charger itself rather than using a higher current power supply. I wonder if we can add an even bigger capacitor to “improve” it more? What will it do to the life expectancy of the power supply by drawing over twice the rated current, even over such short time periods?
I cross-posted this deal over at SlickDeals. If any of you are also SD members, go thumbs up it & help answer people’s questions and maybe we can get a few more towards the 50 unit goal.
Link in the title goes to “Opus BT-C3100 LI-ion NiCd NiMh LCD Smart Intelligent Battery Charger with US Adapter - Black”
Gearbest has EU version either but it is more expensive now ($56.99 vs. $59.14), and it’s unclear whether special price is coming for both versions of just US.
:~ Sorry for misunderstanding. You mean it is EU or US?
The improved version will show 2.0 after power up for 2 second and then make full segment display turned on. This is the way to tell the difference between HKJ’s first reviewed version which has no version number displayed after power up. In future, if we make any improvement, we will have this version number updated reflecting the change.
