Need Recommendation on Rechargeable AA's

Eneloop is all you need to know. Just make sure you are buying the ones you think you are buying, as some unscrupulous vendors try to pawn off first generation cells as the very latest.

Look for the crown with the line under it to get 3rd generation. Here’s a good resource on BLF.

Turnigy are a much better price, and tests show they are as good as eneloop for holding charge over 13 months, and they have slightly higher capacity.

Eneloops have a deserved reputation but their price is high! AA 2400mah Turnigy LSD are $ 1.59 ea + shipping.

2200mah version tested here: https://budgetlightforum.com/t/-/7928

get them from here: http://hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__25023__Turnigy_AA_LSD_2400mAh_Low_Self_Discharge_ready_to_use_.html

I am using Turnigy LSD 2400mah and ALDI LSD 2300mah

Thread should have been closed right about there
If you get any other recommendation, its bogus! You can get them from member chibiM.

duracell precharged MADE IN JAPAN are eneloops.
those are 2000mah
the newer 2400 precharged are rumored to be eneloop xx.
hard to find eneloop at local retail but the duracell version is usually easy to find around here at least.

What they said, and particularly what he said.

ChibiM, Only way to go. I saw he was running a 8 pack PRO special for I think $33. Also, Snag a Glamour pack too if you can. Super neat and rare. If you have kids or wife they will love the look of them too. (Justification of purchasing more)

If you have a wife and kids the disney or snazzy eneloops might help keep them from getting tossed in the trash like duraloops do .having a battery that doesn't look like an alkaline can be handy .

In the states the answer is eneloop duraloop aldi or ikea low self discharge

Eneloop (buy from ChibiM), Hobbyking Turnigy or GP Recyko. These are all good, with the last two is more budget oriented.

+1 on Eneloops. I got 2nd generation off Amazon a few months ago, that Panasonic's Eneloop division "claims" are really 3rd generation eneloops with 2nd generation wrapper.

If I had do it over though, I would just order some 4th generation Eneloop Pro's from chibiM, and also some disney minnie mouse eneloops too specifically for my fiancee's electronics.

Not sure about the glamour pack, but I just sent ChibiM a message about the 8 pack Pro special he has going on.

Thanks for all of the info guys!

I charge NiMH rechargeable cells with my Nitecore i4 V2, charges them fine and they are cheap Digimax batteries your i2 should have no problems.

I have the jetbeam i4 (same charger) and the eneloops charge just fine in it.

From what Ive read you want an LSD (low self discharge) battery like Eneloops. The Energizers might be OK too, depending on how long they sit. Might have more capacity. LSD batteries have less capacity, apparently due to a larger separator, which makes them last longer on the shelf.

The new Eneloops are supposed to have something like70% power after 5years.

Hmm are Panasonic pro Eneloop 4 gen, best choice?

Ive been running the latest duracell 2400-2500 mah ion core stay charged aa for 6 months now and no issues. I bought mine at walmart. They are made in japan

Sanyo Eneloop Ni-MH Charger & Battery Pack (8x AA, 4x AAA) (3rd Gen, 1800x recharge cycles)
by Eneloop

List Price: $39.99
Price: $31.59 & FREE Shipping on orders over $35.

If you are in Canada, PC (President’s Choice) are known to be Eneloops at half the cost of Sanyo/Panasonic labels that can be found at Loblaws, Maxi’s and Provigo supermarkets !

PC Eneloops !

Also Duracell Rechargeables StayCharged with the Made in Japan monikers are also known to be Eneloops.

I’ve received 2nd gen eneloops from them as well (HR-4UTGA), package says they’re 1800 cycles though, and are rather cheap from Amazon so I’m not complaining.

I went ahead and purchased 8 of the Eneloop Pro’s from ChibiM. 33 bucks shipped isn’t bad and everyone seems to like them.
