Opus BT-C3100 V2.0 "Dreamcharger" GROUP BUY Now @ $ 36. New coupon code - tatasal -(to close July 15) NOW CLOSED

I guess its more of a success than they had originally anticipated!

Well… Maybe we can wait a little bit if we really want one with EU plug? I already have a few chargers and they all come with US plug which I hate. I haven’t ordered one yet…

I ordered mine yesterday at 06:30GMT (EU plug) and just had email confirming postage.

Nice fast postage that

Just hope delivery isn’t that long.

I’ll have Dora check that out tomorrow. It’s confusing… the link he gave is for the same charger (US plug). Maybe this is the plug of choice made by buyers but unfortunately what’s available does not match up to the stock on hand.

You are correct

I was on Skype with Dora this afternoon and she brought up this plug concern. Hence, the announcement. Anyway, she will try her best to have the supplier provide the type of plug as desired by the buyer. Let’s wait what the supplier has to say. It’s a matter of shortage of a specific plug supply, an unforeseen circumstance as stocks were ordered but unfortunately were not commensurate to the demand in plug types ordered.

Hello.
Prompt or explain what version V.2???

Ordered one last night, already received mail that it´s been shipped out, yihaaw!

From post # 145, written by Henry Xu, Opus chief engineer:

1. The charger is oscillating and stops the charging a bit too premature
This has been solved by firmware update: charger will make no current increase back in the CV stage. So no oscillating at all circumstances.

2.The “resting”/overheating periods during 2A charging or 4 × 1A discharge

2A charging is supposed to be used for high capacity Li-ion batteries, we should mention this in user manual that charging with ni-mh AA batteries with 2A charging current is not appropriate. Since 1A discharge current for 4 pcs li-ion batteries will generate a lot heat, and the fan exhausting speed is not fast enough. So it can lead to thermo-protection kicked in, which this safety mechanism is designed for. So I hope it is acceptable. If only two batteries is discharged at 1A speed, it should be no problem.

3. Power spikes from the power supply
We noticed for 9A peak current with very little period time of less than 10ms. we improved this problem by adding a larger enough filtering capacitor and its peak current now is reduced to 7A. The problem is not 100% solved, however it is improving the power supply quality significantly.

4. Uses trickle charging for NiMH when cell is fully charged
I think trickle charging current for nimh is necessary. And we believe this is a good feature of this charger. We have no plan to take this trickle charging away for nimh batteries. For li-ion batteries, there is no trickle charge current.

Your order number is WXXXXXXXXXXX95 and we have shipped your order out today.

yeah!

got the the email that says it was shipped too… yay!
btw… how many can you order per person?

+ 1

There is no limit. One Russian guy got 3

Same problems here:

I ordered and paid the EU plug version just a few minutes after tatasal released the coupon code.

Just 3 hours ago I received 3 Support Tickets from GearBest asking me to change my order to the US Plug version.

Please, can the ones having the same problem specify if you ordered the EU or the US plug?

Same for the ‘lucky’ ones that received the shipping confirmation and tracking number, please.

Thanks.

PS: By the way, I think it’s not fair that GearBest are not processing the orders in the order that they were placed. Hope they start solving these problems as soon as possible. If they offer prices for more than 200 units orders, it just doesn’t make sense that they are having this serious stock issues if placed orders are not even 100.

Why is not safe using a US Plug with adapter to EU, HKJ?

The pins on a US plug is not isolated, this means that the there is a risk for touching them if the connection between the US plug and adapter is not pressed fully together (Especially for small (child) fingers).

This risk is non-existent with the EU plug, because the pins is partially isolated.

There is, of course, also the detail about about US plugs being approved for 120VAC and EU plugs for 230VAC.

@ SmilingCat

I hope tomorrow will have a clearer picture regarding the plug issue as Dora will talk with their supplier. The plug issue was not anticipated due to the expected volume of about 50 units only. As of this afternoon, I think there are already about 80 orders. I do apologize for the inconvenience it may be giving you at this moment.

Ok HKJ, thanks for your fast response.

By the way, you still don’t receive the 2.0 version of this Opus charger, right? Have you any idea on when are you receiving it? Are you waiting for a standard or express shipping parcel?

Placed my EU unit order on 28th at 7:00 morning, few hours after code showed here, had informed Dora before. Got this “out of stock” message anyway. I guess some were luckier than me. It’s appears there are better and worse costumers for Gearbest. Now I’m stuck with this “Dear costumer wait longer” alternative. Wonder how many EU orders has been treated like this ?

Wow, that was fast, and very surprised to get this email this morning as well. Now lets see how fast their 4-7 day expedited shipping really is!
