GB- MaxToch SN6X-2X - Now Closed

M12 is interesting. But it would be nice to know more about the build quality. Its quite a lot more expensive than an HD2010. And it probably needs to be modded with new driver anyway.

A teardown would be nice.

Also the discount in these Maxtoch group buys seems quite low compared to what we are used too.

Agreed with the too little discount…under $60 surely i take 1

That could be why it is lagging. What would I say to those that are on the fence? I wish I had bought a quality light like a MaxToch from the get-go, instead of the first 15 or so crappy lights I purchased. Besides my Fenix LD01 keychain light, they (SN6X-2X and DX21) are my go to lights.

Thank you kralyevski….

GB for MaxToch SN6X-2X is active.

Post here in this thread if you are interested, as well as quantity, and I will update in the OP.

It will be handled thru paypal, and you will need to message me your paypal addy so you can be invoiced.

Oh well, over-ruled for the M12 . Still, glad to see the improvements they made. I'm leaving a messgae for Amanda bout a deal on the M12. I got a couple of Yezl Y3's, which are roughly in the same league as a better HD2010, but can't match the quality of a MaxToch still.

interested to see what the new sn6x can do

i love my current model thats tom e modded  330 kcd hehe

Funny, I did yours after mine, so yours is actually better - planned on re-visiting mine with the same tweaks, but never got to it... yet .

im never selling mine - its king haha.

Picking up the new upgrade 2X sample from courier this afternoon so will have good look at quality and do field test, 6m lux test, plus runtime test. Then tomorrow night should be able to dedome it and redo testing.

Sincerely hope it is 120ish kcd stock because with just dedoming it will give 250k or so - and that’s 1000 meters ANSI - ideal for farm/outdoors/S&R/hunting spotlight.

That’s great. Let us know your test result, mudgripz.

New upgraded Maxtoch 2X: Quick review

This afternoon I received a sample of the new 2X and have now had opportunity to take a good look at it and do some testing. Light came in a very useful canvas carry bag with spare tailcap switch, rubber tailcap button, spare O-rings, good lanyard and guarantee card.

This is a beautifully made light - a step up from even last year’s fine 2X. Anodizing is better than last model, build quality is excellent, reflector perfect and new AR lens very clear. Threads are excellent and the light comes with double O-rings for IPX-8 waterproofing standard. Overall construction is 100%.

Lux tests will always vary depending on your light meter calibration and your batts, and I can only measure to 6m in completely dark conditions. My 6m measurement was 112kcd - which I think will improve to 120kcd or so at 10m - the best distance to truly measure throwers. Maxtoch did random testing and recorded 122 and 124kcd for two examples at 10m. This is a powerful thrower and I expect with just dedoming it will record 240-250kcd at 10m.

In an inital field test this beam is a real winner. The hotspot is actually quite wide and it is terrific for scanning wide areas quickly. The 120kcd throw also shows out at long range and the 2X picked out power poles at around 600 meters, and lots of objects past 400m.

This is another high quality light from Maxtoch. *They are really producing some very classy lights now and the 2X is a powerful, beautifully made light. I will start a runtime test shortly, but at this point I would advise anyone contemplating getting one to go do it. You won’t be disappointed.

I am looking forward to hearing of the new 2Xs running north of 350kcd. Will tune this one to that level also. As a stock light its a beauty - but at 350kcd it will be epic.

Is will be good to know the run time on 3400Mah battery and how good it dissipate the heat. By the way, how difficult to dedome this light?

Torch became quite warm over runtime test - mainly because it was sitting on the carpet with no air movement to cool it. Heat dissipation is fine.

Runtime with my panasonic 3100s on continuous high beam is 81 minutes - quite good for a powerful light. Has Hi/med/lo plus an innovative twist head feature which gives a fast strobe. Medium mode is 46kcd - very respectable and likely to give hours of runtime.

Impressive light. Now for the dedoming….

Thank you for all the info mudgripz! Looks like MaxToch has again listened to the suggestions they received.

Thanks for the quick review. Wait for news after dedoming.

Big poison from you….I am in for it.

Did a quick 2 minute de-dome on the 2X. Very nicely made piece of kit. Nicely machined, threaded and anodized. Quite heavy. I really should have put dark sunglasses on before I tested the beam on the white door at 4m though. :cowboy_hat_face:

Any kind soul can share the easy stp by step to dedome this particular flashlight?
