My smallest cheapest thrower.

Mjêh, can’t find ’em under $9.— shipped here…
You had a good deal there.

pretty decent little light to mod, looks like its going to be hard to find there are a plenty of lights named mini cree q5 led torch flashlight.

This also has the charging port but it didn’t come with the cable. They look like a Xeno clone. It’s hard to believe how tiny that XP-E is when it’s de-domed.

Probably why he stopped auctioning them off.

Let me guess direct link to the battery? 3.5mm spade plug? Would need one of those TP4056 charge modules NOT to blow your battery out the back of the thing :stuck_out_tongue:

Got any pics of the internals…what is the diameter of the driver? (would an OSHPark DD work in it?)

Really digging how small it is…

Yep not a charger I would use for sure.

It’s a pretty good sized driver actually probably about 18mm. There is some extra room considering it needs the space for the charger.

It has an internal charger (circuitry and all)? Or inside the clicky module does the + terminal have a L shaped peice of metal going right to the + battery spring

This was the click module inside the (alot bigger) Ultrafire 535 I got a while back

note top left the L shaped piece of metal attached to the + pin of charging port, goes right to the + hat looking thing that is connected right to the battery (sorry for my craptastic pics)

And dangit on 18mm…uggh…why can’t they stick with normal size drivers so we can slap in some OSHPark customs

Would like some pics of the internals if you feel up to it

i have never used the 3.5mm / USB charger yet. I should take it apart to see if it is direct-to battery connected.

It’s not set up like that one. I have seen that one before as well. On this one the driver has the plug on one side and the switch on the other. It’s a little clicky switch right on the driver itself.

When I get the next batch in I’ll take some pics for you. I don’t feel like ripping this one apart.

It’s really not bad that it’s 18mm that is plenty easy to build up from a smaller driver. What is the killer is when you have a small driver like the SK68 not much you can do with that. But it’s easy to make a small driver bigger. Just make a ring out of copper and solder it around the small driver to make it bigger.

Ah ok…kinda like the SolarStorm drivers/pill, the clicky is mounted 90 degrees on the board

True on the 17mm to 18mm…

Well…unless you have Eagle masters like Mattaus and others that can take a 17mm board and make it 15mm

Yep just like that, 90 degrees and right on the board. Not a bad design for what it is.

I have shaved down many a driver as well, it’s just that you can’t go too far with it.

Very nice mod, I like those small throwers a lot and they make the perfect EDC for me.

But hey, you should have asked for permission, you're moving into my exclusive territory (small cheap hotrod throwers):

oooooh! I have the cheaper versions of your SpiderFire 16340 Ultrafire 602C running XP-G at 1400mA…Thru some 10degree TIR’s

Quite surprised at the light it throws!

That’s not bad at all.

Also cool mods, above. (Stay off my lawn)lol

I picked up one of these because of the side switch, and I intended it as a gift to be used with an alkaline AA. The one I got does not work with an alkaline AA, only 14500 lithium, and I let the seller know (which he didn’t). He then changed the listing. So as far as I know, 14500 only for the moment.

The Small Sun model is ZY-R802
Here is review from the

Highlights from review;
There is 120Hz PWM on low mode. This is easily noticeable and may bother PWM-sensitive users.
The initial light output on High was 191lm and ANSI-readings (OTF, after 30s) were:

- 150lm on High

  • 35lm on Low
    Measured throw was 5kcd / 140m

Amazing that 18650 was able to pull out 300 lumens and 25kcd with just a few mods.
I have the gold model from Yupard aff of aliexpress and was afraid to diesect it, now I know what to expect and will probably try.
I like the light stock and wish I had bought more than 1.
Thanks!
Keith

now thats awesome. never thought of owning a super small pocket thrower. might be a bit fun to have ….more like a toy. the hotspot must be real small huh?

It’s not a small of a hotspot as you would think just because the reflector is so small but it is very focused, still it has a lot of spill as well. I’m kinda blown away by how much light this thing puts out for only being 300 lumens. shocked would be more like it.
