GB- MaxToch SN6X-2X - Now Closed

Did a quick 2 minute de-dome on the 2X. Very nicely made piece of kit. Nicely machined, threaded and anodized. Quite heavy. I really should have put dark sunglasses on before I tested the beam on the white door at 4m though. :cowboy_hat_face:

Any kind soul can share the easy stp by step to dedome this particular flashlight?

Nice to meet you here. I’ve heard about your de-dome before.

Hi Amanda - gadgetman has had quite a bit to do with development of these lights here from Nz.

One comment I’d add to my quick review for all - the new 2X fits all 18650 batts no problems.

Ok dedoming tests completed on the new 2X.

Stock it read 112kcd at 6m, with an estimate of 120 at 10m. Maxtoch’s 10m tests showed 122 and 124kcd for two new 2Xs at 10m.

Tonight after dedoming my 2X’s peak reading is 237kcd at 6m, with an estimate of 245-250kcd at 10m - where throwers perform best. It is helluva powerful for a basic light with a 5 minute dedome!

On medium mode it read 95kcd at 6m - likely about 100kcd at 10m. Its medium is far more than most lights on high!

Conclusion - amazing performer - great thrower. ANSI distance measure on 245-250kcd = 1000 meters.

Note your results will vary a bit up or down depending on meter calibration and batts.

Oooh, very tempting. What about the shipping cost?

(or did I misread the opening post?)

Free shipping, if you live on the earth 8)

i wish you can do the GB of M12 next in the future krono

I hear ya, zelee! I will probably get a sample and show some pics to generate a little more interest.

can’t wait to see the actual light, thanks before krono since i never owning a HD2010 before this M12 seems a winner for me if it available with NW tint

The M12 is spec'd at 94 kcd (converting from rated distance), which is awesome for a HD2010 size light in stock form. The AR lens, XM-L2 U2 on copper, and a fine reflector are probably why. I'm guessing it's between 2.5A and 3A stock.

I got one coming with one of the MaxToch 26700 cells, so I'll be posting details/review on it. I really like the HD2010 and Yezl Y3 style lights, so this is very similar, but higher quality, like the other MaxToch's.

I just built up two Y3's at 5.7A and 6.7A max, so I WILL be pushing this light in that neighborhood, eventually. I'll probably go with a FET based driver - will know more details when I get it, how mod friendly it is.

The 26700 really has my curiosity because they seem extremely rare. I see a 4500 mAh rated cell (no name basically) at MeritLine and Amazon, and the old Moli's at 2900 mAh. But a 5000 mAh - dunno, haven't found any yet googling.

where i can find 26700 battery on sale?its bigger in diameter than 26650 isn’t?

Is this what they are built for, or what you are seeing?

Ooops, updated my post above. All these cells have their sizes in the model 26650 means 26mm width, 65.0 mm length. So a 26700 is 26mm width (same as a KK), but longer than a KK. I have one Moli 26700, and width wise it fits in all 26650 tubes, but it's too long to use in any 26650 light I have. It's longer than a TrustFire 5000 26650.

One Y3 is a full mod: domed XM-L2 U2 1A on Noctigon, UCLp lens, FET modified Nanjg, stripped stock driver as contact board, and my new custom e-switch firmware with moonlight, long hold to strobe from anywhere, etc... This light I tested at 5.70A on a LG HE2 or Samsung 20R.

L2 U2 1A on Noctigon, BLF17DD, stripped stock driver as contact board, and my new custom e-switch firmware. Tested this at 6.70A max (LG HE2). I got an extra amp out of this for 3 possible reasons:

  • BLF17DD board, not a Nanjg board (dunno if any difference in resistance, maybe?)
  • shorter wire between contact board and driver
  • possibly better solder point on the contact board - closer, less resistance to the spring

Both lights have spring bypass's, etc. - usual tweaks.

Sweet!

oh.. sorry. GB thread.. please continue..

Thank you.
