Rating: GearBest.com [AVOID]

yep ive ordered one of old lumens lights from the group buy, it certainly will be my one and only order

So who else is in favor of AVOID? :)

I'd never buy anything from them after this INTENTIONAL scam. Mistake??? My ass!!!

Regarding the Olight H15, I wont be avoiding them. I think people are judging way to harshly. Its standard practice to use loss leaders. Its not dishonest or underhanded. If they never sold any lights at all, ie: the 5 Russians are non existent, then that is underhanded bait and switch. But we have no proof of that.

IMO, they engaged in standard business practices. No one even thinks twice about it when other sites offer 5 of something big, and insane prices just to get the web talking about the sale. I see it often, X company will sell 2 or something at 3pm on X date. One local company runs sales where every hour there are a set amount of an item offered each hour over a 24 hour period. Admittedly they inform people how many are on offer, usually.

Bricks and mortar stores offer crazy sales where people line up and swarm in when the doors are opened for the limited number of certain items. People get injured in these things. The only difference i see here, they didnt say up front there were only 5 available. The fact the deal still appears is part of the campaign to get the site out in the minds of buyers. Its why they do it.

Apparently 5 people got a stunning deal. Im not pissed that i missed out.

AVOID.

They made a pricing error, by accident, or worse: intentional to gain publicity, and then they do not admit the error. They stated it was a limited clearance and still allow more than 5 people buy the item. It is annoying, either because they do not admit a mistake, or because they are not able to act as a proper and reliable webshop.

They lost me as a customer.

Enjoy my first and last order, gearbest

When I ordered I already knew that this is not possible. Use common sense… Sh!t happens.
I’m not saying that this is not their fault but you guys are too harsh on them. Probably some poor Chinese worker will get in huge trouble because of this. Believe me or not they are people too and you can’t imagine their life quality… You know… suicides are pretty common there.

Ban them. They have a few failed promo for Nitecore P12 and Fenix. Coupons expired way before the end date. What a waste of time.

I agree the price was impossible, but they listed it and knew perfectly well what they were doing, and people fell for it. (not the buyer's fault) I blame gearbest 100% for false and deceiving advertising. Screw them! I'll never give them my business!! The admin should ban them right now!!!

It really doesn’t matter if the price is impossible or not. As long as something is on their site for a price be it 100 or 1 dollar and I push the Buy button, they must deliver or present some damn good excuse for not delivering. We are not responsible for their mistakes. We did nothing wrong, we just bought in good faith. Remember, the customer is always right.

Let’s say, you bought a new item on ebay. The price was 100$ instead of 800$. It then turns out, that the item was stolen. So the cops knock on your door and seize the item you paid for, and don’t return your money. You should know something was wrong with the item or the price, but you still bought it. Thats how it works. But regarding an online purchase from a store in our country is obligatory to sell the item for the selling price ONLY when the buyer gets an conformation email. It is not enough just to click order and pay for the item and then pray that it goes through.

So, if a deal looks too good to be true, then the seller is probably not legit? Got it

We can’t assume all bargains are stolen goods… and all of us (i think) who bought the item received a confirmation email

I think we all knew the offer was too good to be true. We can come up with all the logic we want to justify if they should send it or not, however they have the final say and how they handle things will determine if this leads to a loss of business or not.

Will I buy again from them? Maybe. One thing is for sure. I will always think 100x before I buy something from them in the future. Not because of the product but because its THEM.

My vote would be “no” thus far. I ordered an F13 from the GB on 5/9. Now, 5 days later, order is still “Processing”. Messaged them… still waiting for response.

I will remain neutral, for a short period. Got in on OL's group buy and it is "processing" still. I have no problem with long shipping times from 1/2 way round the world but how long is too long processing an order that was negotiated previously? I did add two VERY inexpensive light also. I would think that was their purpose with the GB. Getting us to their site to spend money.

These reviews all have something in common.

Oh, hey, Welcome to BLF?

Pl be careful when reputable members are being approached by new firms to lead a group buy. They might be merely using your good reputation to boost theirs. If deals fails to go thru well, your good reputation might be jepordized.
