How did we do? (FastTech.com)

This is depressing. I just ordered 3 packs of those new 3100mah 4.35v cells yesterday (they’re just to good to resist), along with 2 knives. I got a message saying that because of the sharp blades, Malaysia Post would be the only shipping option available to me. So now I’m starting to suspect that after I wait for about a week or 10 days, they will come back and cancel the order, and now I need to change my ordering rules to also include, “Do not mix knives and batteries in the same order”. As I really want to try one of the knives for a project I have in mind, guess I’ll go to Exduct and see if they have it so I’ll be able to have it when summer arrives at least.

I’ve actually made friends with one of the Ali sellers, we got on Google Chat once, and we’re in touch via Google Plus almost every day. He hasn’t come out and said so, but I can tell he’s much smarter than me, and a heck of a lot wealthier too I’m guessing.

I’d like to buy from fasttech, I heard good news about them.
Unfortunately they haven’t had TrustFire AK-47 9xT6 which I seek for,
they do have AK-90 but it is too big/heavy to my convenience —well, maybe,
actually it’s weird greeny colour that really turned me down.

So I bought AK-47 from questionable lightmalls along with 4 soshine 26650.
Maybe I should have bought the batteries from fasttech instead, but it’s already too late.

this is what I was trying to say/describe.
anyway life goes on, so does our choices of seller.

Which new 3100mAh with 4.35V?

They are still cheap, so it’s an option to order and after we now know for sure it will take forever to ship I can live with it.
I now just order things directly with free shipping, in former times I collected over a week and ordered a tracked parcel to get it as fast as possible.

Sorry, got it wrong, should have said Samsung ICR18650-32A

2 weeks from order to doorstep. Fastech is still my first choice if I have to look overseas.

It arrived today. 42 days. If it didn't arrive in the mail today, I would have filed a Paypal dispute. They used Swiss Post to deliver to me in the United States.

I stopped ordering from them last August/September. They were causing me alot of frustration with their packaging on items that were supposed to be in stock when I ordered. But everything I did get from them was good quality and worked well including a nice fast draw knife made by Gerber that I carry with me everyday still…

I’m tend to avoid opening a PP dispute because will add more effort to keep track all activities. However there are always conditions make me opening it.

anyway a summary of my last and ever order history with FT (only drivers and springs).
10 Feb, order placed and paid.
16 Feb, create ticket, order not yet shipped.
17 Feb, follow up the ticket, no response yet.
18 Feb, got response, will be shipped within 48 hours without explanation.
18 Feb, replied with complaint about that response and slow order processing.
18 Feb, late night got email shipment notification.
19 Feb, got response that order has been shipped. however the shipment is split without asking my confirmation because some items are defect from their supplier.
19 Feb, replied with complaint about that splitting and asking cancellation for the remaining item.
20 Feb, got response, saying buyer can cancel by their own and they asking my confirmation whether I’m sure want to cancel.
20 Feb, I check the shipment status is packaging and shipment pending. Cancellation menu has disappeared. Immediately replied, sure and confirm to cancel. and also letting them know don’t suggest something that’s not do-able.

and guess what,
20 Feb midnight, got email shipment notification of the remaining item. I directly replied the ticket again, asking what is wrong with FT.
and guess another surprise, afterward no reply to ticket anymore until this moment I post this.

I’m sure above history can show what kind of service performance they chose to give.

I was on Fasttech’s website several weeks ago, and was just looking through the “My reviews” area, and found that there was a review that I had submitted awhile ago, in 12/2013, that was still “Pending review”, so I opened a ticket to ask about why it hadn’t been approved yet. Since then, I’ve had an ongoing chain of messages with their support, and they’ve done things like claim that the reason it was pending approval was that I had submitted an earlier review. I told them I don’t remember, but no review from me was on the product, so I don’t think so.

The review was, to me, a slightly (not totally) negative review, so I’m wondering if this is FT’s policy, to not publish negative reviews?

I’m pretty sure that I’ve had several not great reviews before, but this is the 1st time I’ve run into any problems getting one approved.

I really like Fasttech’s site, very well done and organised. I placed 2 orders, so far none arrived. Will post again here when they arrive. I really wish they would ship batteries to my country.

FT site is 5 class above any other. But, their response time, went from very fast ~ 6 hours max (1 year ago) to 2/3 days!! its wayyy out of hand. They become very slow, and no more shipping on 18650 to EU (or at least some countries)

Fasttech has gone slowtech for me. Now I consider neverbuyfromthemtech bcos on how bad the managed my 2 lasts orders (never received… had to use paypal…)

If you purchase over $20 in items…select USPS ePacket…it’s alot faster and better tracking

FYI

I ordered Trustfire 14500 & 18650 batteries from them over a month ago. I don’t recall anything ever taking this long to arrive so I opened a ticket. Apparently it takes 45-60 days to arrive. That information may have been on the site but don’t recall seeing it. I probably would have ordered from a different source if I had.

I ordered another two Trustfire 26650 batteries from Ebay and they arrived 5 days later (in the package with the hologram). From now on this will be my source. 45-60 days just doesn’t cut if for me too be honest. I’m patient but I don’t live in the 1800’s where stuff travels by boat and pony.

Unfortunately that’s what’s hapening with FastTech lately because their cells are shipped through surface mail. My eight Samsung INR18650s arrived after 85 days. :~

That eBay seller could have found a better way of sending lithium ions. May we know which seller it is?

Here was the Ebay ad:

They shipped on Oct 21 and arrived Oct 25. Came in the package of two with the little holo label.

This is the first and last time I use FT.

Thanks Deputydave!

Too bad ilastone doesn’t ship to the Philippines. :_(

I ordered TrustFire MINI-01 and a Nitecore NL166 RCR123A 650mAh and it has been 60 days so far and I have yet to receive anything. Tracking number shows nothing still.
