probably because the same basic body is used for a number of different lights and thus is made to be versatile enough to handle them rather than purpose building a different body for each different light and driving inventory and tooling costs up.
I got this light about a month ago. Awesome light, IMO. 4Sevens just came out with his latest and greatest, the Maelstrom S18. It's built around the SST-90 LED. He wants $250.00 for it.
Did yours come with batteries? Are they charging? I bet you can't wait until dark.
yeah I cant fire it up yet waiting for my multimeter so I can check batts to make sure everythings ok is there anything
else I shoud check for as far as takeing it apart......thanks
That's a good idea to keep an eye on the voltage. I charged the included TF 2400 flames with the included charger and when the charger said the batteries were done, they all measured 4.25VDC. So I retired that charger.
The threads aren't anodized and it seems like it might be easy to cross-thread the tubes if your aren't careful. Other than that I think the light is a beast. I am not sure I could design a better head thumper, if needed.
everything that can be unscrewed and everything looks nice and tight the only thing I didn't
unscrew is the front of the light.
