Up for sale today is my 5x Sky Ray King mod, partially de-domed modded JB-A driver, . Actually it's a Tangspower Fing. But you know the deal it's a SRK by any other name. This is the light
Although it's not actually Grey colored at all. It's more of a dark bronze color. it's a very sharp looking light.
This one is rocking out right at 750 lumens per emitter. I originally de-domed all the emitters but I felt that it needed a little more flood, so I removed the middle emitter and put in a XM-L2 with the dome on. You get the flood from the center on this because it's has such a small reflector compared with the outside ones, that are actually very deep reflectors for a SRK.
I swapped the stock driver for a modded JB-A driver with High, Medium, and Low (hidden strobe and sos) High is just over 3,800 lumens, Medium is 2,200 and low is 800 pretty nice spread on this driver. High should be treated as turbo although I did run it to test it and it was fine but the light did get blistering hot to the touch and the lumens did drop off with thermal sag. So I would say high for short bursts maybe 1 minute or 2 tops. It handles medium like a champ. I added a ton of heatsinking to make sure.
For heatsinking I used copper pennies and filled in with Silicone carbide/JB weld. The Silicone carbide has much better thermal transfer than Alumina which is what is used in Arctic Alumina. It transfers heat fast and the hotter it gets the faster it transfers heat. It's fantastic stuff.
The de-domed emitters are XML-U2 and the center is XM-L2 U2 very cool white. The combination is as expected someplace in the middle of cool and neutral. Maybe a little more cool than neutral actually. It throws too. It's right at 65kcd which is about three times as far as a normal SRK.
