Review of Lightscastle 12x ultrafire 7,200 lumen multiemitter. (WOW)

Interested.

Are there any real world backyard beam shots of this light available or coming? Maybe down an airport runway or football stadium?

The model you linked above clearly shows XM-L2 emitters in the gray color, the black version is still XM-L. Beam profile on FT looks smoother on older XM-L.
Interesting.

FT - Should be the same light, but good luck getting XM-L2's as pictured and described... Maybe - do you feel lucky? Smile Cheaper here but only 8 left: amazon.com/SUPERNIGHT 12X, and listed as XML T6's.

Time to contact Richard for a FET driver. You'll get nicer modes from that, and all the lumens you expected. I wouldn't buy that light without a driver swap.

Interesting…does yours have the exact same driver? Also, what cells are you using?

26650 KKs but when I switched to Sony VT it’s slightly brighter but still far from 7000 lumens I was hoping for :_(

Interesting…I have the 9T6 version of this light and its consumes approx 76 watts based on tail cap current, which surprised me for a cheap unmoded light. It is very impressive but gets warm quick.

My Ultrafire 9T6 uses about 55 watts. There is a noticeable difference in brightness. (Ultrafire 9T6 still quite good though) I suspect the lights in question (like the one in the above review) are driven a bit harder out of the box.

I also have an Ultrafire 15T6 (about 30 watts) and it was just pathetic. But i recently realised i did not test it with Keepower 26650s just Keygos 26650 IMR which seem a bit suspect so will have to report back on that one.

What about the driver?

I have one of these on order as well from Lightscastle ,they sent me the LW-9T6 version first time by mistake which I ended up buying at discount to get them to send the LW-12L2 one out
The LW-9T6 has XML T6 LED’s not XML2 T6 the LW-12L2 version has, as does the Amazon SUPERNIGHT version.

The LW-9T6 was still bright though compared to my Fandyfire Warrior with resistor mod, it was much brighter, just hoping they have sent the correct one this time!!

The LW-9T6 also has the next mode memory which was annoying, I used it with Trustfire flame 5000mah 26650 batteries(protected and 4675mah according to my Opus BT-C3100) and they didn’t trip out on full so if they do with the LW-12L2 I’ll need more batteries |(

First one ordered 6th May came 21st May ,second one then sent 29th May and I’m still waiting for it

My bad - I was the one that posted the Amazon link. Sounds like a different driver than the LightCastle version. We don't know now if old/new batch's or good/bad batch's, or if Amazon's version is simply built differently than the LightCastle version, or you got a single piece klunker. Beam shot compares won't help if it's a different version.

Wait -- the amazon listing clearly states it won't work with protected batteries. Is that true with yours? If it works, you got some false advertising issue then, so can dispute the product. I would think Amazon and PayPal has some protection against false advertising? I'd pursue it if I were you by first directly asking the vendor.

Also, does it have next mode memory, like 18sixfifty's?

Is there any way of removing the PCB on the batteries if it trips them or is it a case or replacing them?

If I need to replace them what are a good set of batteries to get ? up to $10 each?

I tried it with protected Panasonic 3400mAh, it works sporadically… but with KK or Sony VT it works wonderful and it has next mode memory

edit : I forgot to charge the batteries before I put them in, now it’s much brighter… between all my multiple LEDs light, this light is definitely the brightest one
but as for 7000 lumens? I need to bring this to Tom E to check it out as he has a light sphere to test this out

Ahhh - +1 Smile. No prob, bring it over. I'd like to see it anyway. We can also compare it head to head to my resistor modded 9X and hot J18's.

for sure testing it with light meter and shining the light to the ceiling… it’s brighter than my Niwalker Nova MM15

I note that the 15x version on Amazon is a four 18650 or 26650 battery light. Has any one taken a look at it yet? Must be a pretty long light, getting into the six D cell Mag-Lite category.

We need a group buy on this light, somebody bring it! Double thanks!

I bought that supernight 15LEDs awhile back.. my advise is save your money and just get that grey 12 LEDs ..

Well I finally got the batteries in mine (I bought the 12T6 grey one off of Amazon that DayLighter listed) and this thing is SUPER BRIGHT. Insane! The modes suck horribly but not unfixable.

How long does it take your lights to heat up so hot you cant touch it? The very top of the head heats up within about 15 seconds on high and the tube is scalding within about 2 to 3 minutes on high. I’ve never had a 12 emitter light before, and I understand that they are supposed to get hot but dang!

I cant touch to the top of the head after 45 seconds on the one 18650 modded lol.

i dont care if i blow up some emitters, then ill upgrade to xml2/noctigons

Sounds about as practical as a rubber crutch! Sounds like it needs auto step-down after 60 to 90 seconds and a better UI. I note it is listed as 5 modes. Are the strobe and SOS in the main sequence or hidden in any way and is the medium output level low enough so the light can be used continuously in that mode? Any estimates of Lumens outputs in the three output levels?
