of course a big thank you goes to OL for making this possible and organize all i think its a great effort, and thank you to all modders and sponsors
I haven’t had much time to comment before but really i liked the splendid work you can do on stock flashlights. i think anyone who gets a light from each of you should consider himself very proud and lucky. you seems that, not only perform, but, enjoy and love what you do and this make your work very special and unique and that is priceless IMHO.
And in the end a BIG thank goes to BLF forum that unfortunately I have discovery only last months, what a wonderful place to be !
i have really learned a lot here, my passion for lights is very old since i was a kid but it looks that some things accompany you all your life  and BLF have given so much to me during this months with all this helpful members and stuff, that i feel myself in debt and back then think with myself, to gave something back to this splendid community, and this together with the desire to see what can i do and the passion for this stuff make me enter in the contest and spend a LOOT of time and energy on it.Of course a special thank you goes to my wife which support me, without her understanding and support i probably would never find the time to finish.
Now i win the sec prize and this put me again in dept, so i will bother you again with my mad ideas and creations so stay tuned

Congratulations to YOU as a new father Ervin !
and thank you for the comments on my build. I am amazed at the work you put into your custom light, as it is really a work of art using bare materials beyond words of expression.

I am honored to have participated. This was a really fun yet laborious experience. I do not envy the judges in their decision, but I am grateful.

Thank You.

All these builds were fantastic. I don’t know where you guys find your patience.

Congratulations to the winners. Well deserved.

Congrats to everyone one that competed, winners and non winners. I can honestly say every build inspired me in some way.

Thank you O-L, judges, and gift contributors. Both this and last year's competition was friendly competitiveness at its best.

I think that we all wanted to see your light in the final pick too. Sorry that you weren’t able to finish it, but there’s a bunch of us who hope you will finish it and show us all the results. When you do, I would like to add a photo of it into the list in Post #1. It looked like an amazing build.

Congratulations to the winners, congrats to the one's who did not win, congrats to the one's who did not make it to the deadline but are still on the way of finishing some beautiful lights, and congrats to Old Lumens for the realisation of another inspiring and entertaining FSB-competition. I have enjoyed it immensely.

As for my own build: I have not even started but my light will be build eventually and I will do a thread about it :-)

thank you O-L for creating such contest, thank you to all participants, it was fun, and inspirational, congrads to all winners. now i really hope next year we have the same contest, i already started collecting ideas for the next build. can’t wait to start.

It was a hard decision for the judges (I was one of them), because you all presented such great projects with a lot of different styles. Thank you OL, the sponsors and all participant :)

Old Lumens, Thanks again for putting on the 2014 BLF flashlight contest. It has to take a lot of time to put it together, roundup the sponsors, moderate, and judge the results. Much appreciated. Also, thanks to the contest modders, Judges, and the sponsors supporting the 2014 BLF contest. And, last but not least, thanks to all the other contestants for sharing their builds, we all commiserated with the failures, and rejoiced in their successes.

It was interesting, informative, and inspiring to see what people come up with in their builds, and the methods devised to execute their plans. Lots of “light bulb” type moments going on like: why didn’t I think of that; I had thought of that, but now someone has actually done it; or, I didn’t know that was even possible. It was, by far, the the most fun part of the contest.

You know, they say there's nothing new under the sun and of course, that's false, but just about every time I have ever had a "revelation" about doing something with a light, I can google it and find someone already did something similar to it, somewhere in the world. So many of our unique ideas are from something that has spawned from someone else. In watching these builds, I always come up with new ideas that are due to seeing the work done here.

I'm very thankful that we have so many talented people here, but it just goes to prove that, until you test yourself, you don't know what you can really do. It benefits us all in many ways.

Great builds, very unique innovations! Congrats to winners and a huge thanks for all participants, this was pleasure to read & watch!! 8)

Congrats to the winners, thanks to the very generous sponsors, massive thanks to the judges, and the crowning glory of all thanks has to go to Old-Lumens himself for putting all this together.

As mentioned a few times, lots of inspiration to be found in this contest. Looking forward to next year.

My method of fabricating fins came about out of jealousy seeing beautiful lathe work and from a simple idea that worked out. I’d mentioned trying to make “plumbers fins” in a pm to Scaru about a year and a half ago then finally tried it out on the Minimag mod I did for Dale and in a larger form on the ray gun. Brazing is something I’d not done for a few years but was inspired to try it again by a recent post by Bucket and am very glad to have done so. There are things I can do now with brazing I considered unfeasible with just solder and all due to this contest. For me, it’s not about what I bring to each mod but what I come away with and can use on the next one.

What a finish to three months. Congrats to the winners, whats more to be said. Without OL's efforts, the sponsors and what a wide and varied bunch of people and shops they were and the efforts of the contestants in our builds. Without the support from one of the three above the would be no comp.

It just shows how well regarded and respected OL is to get this very unique event happening and make it the success it is. To one and all cheers.

Oh my gosh. I do apologize. I did commit to entering this competition and totally forgot about it. I was planning a wedding and then out of town on my honeymoon for most of it, but still sorry I missed this.

Congratulations to everyone. I mean this very sincerely when I say WOW!

I am absolutely blown away by these entries guys. Amazing. Both classes presented outstanding examples of craftsmanship. My favorite part about this is seeing the endless creativity brought by each individual. There are sooooooooooo many things ideas and even materials I NEVER would have thought of here. Superb!!!

Thanks again for doing this OL. Hopefully I will have my act together better next year.

Matt

Well, at least we know your heart is in the right place. Congratulations Matt, I hope your new bride is well informed about your hobby.

Matt - It's good to hear you are safe, well and happy. Maybe next year you can join in.

She every day carries and Icon rogue II in her car, and often a modified C8 I made for her about 5 years ago :) I cant say that she has caught the bug just yet, but I'm working on her.

Thanks OL. I hope to.

Bump for inspiration
