Ultrafire HD2010

Would anyone be able to tell me if the UF HD2010 these days is a decent buy? I looked through old posts and reviews mainly for 2012, and I’m wondering if it still has the east driver. Actually I jumped the gun and purchased without doing my homework. Anyway, any help is appreciated.

Most of us have had good luck with the Tmart Tangsfire:

It does have the East 092 Driver, and mine gets over 4 amps at the tail.

Do you know if it comes with XM-L or XM-L2?

xm-l

Is there a reason to choose the Tangs linked already over this one from same source??

Just curious really, I dont know where I got the link I posted, I thought it was from here.

With the HD2010, most ship with the East 092 driver but sometimes you will get another weaker driver. The best thing to do is purchase one that is known to have the good driver from a dealer that is shipping goods ones at the time. I have 1 Fandyfire from Lightscastle.com and 2 Tangsfire from Tmart and all have the East 092 driver. Ordered another Tangsfire from Tmart on Jan. 15 that has not arrived yet, should be here with the next week or two. If the one I get that is on the way is a good one, that would be a good place to buy at the moment.

Yes, it is safer to buy the exact one linked, the reason is that different sellers will sell a “good” one and a “bad” one; that is, one is driven properly and the other is driven at around 2.7 amps. There has been a problem with QC in the East 092 dating back a year or so and dealer to dealer, and also even vary batch to batch, so it is possible to get a strong one and a weak one from even the same seller. We have just noted, that the ones marked Tangsfire have been the better ones,
but, that has only been true since Christmas.

This one, an XM-L2, seems to be a “good one:”

I have three Tangsfire HD2010 from Tmart in both black and grey. All three came with East-92 drivers.

Makes sense. Will that one from willbuying.com be easy to get rid of the flashing mode? Id prefer a firefly/moonlight or some similar mode. Ive never modded a torch, and many of the terms etc used here have me scratching my head and heading for a new tab in google.

And are none of these waterproof much at all? Not that I intend to go diving or anything, but I notice some torches have at least a minor amount of depth protection. This one and the Tangsfire one suggest rainy day to a quick dip in a puddle. While the one I linked says waterproof design. I note, nothing regarding an IPX number. I also acknowledge the likelihood of misrepping waterproof just like lumens etc.

My original plan was to use this as my first mod. I was looking at swapping xml to xml2 for example. With that one I dont have to do that so could focus on changing other things instead.

I have this from the US warehouse and it is a non-branded light.
If you look at the pictures and read everything you will not find UltraFire anywhere.
It ships from the US so you get it fast.
The copper pill will not fit so I find…………

Thats the one I bought, how’s it working out?

I like the light for sure.
With a battery @4.08V it draws 3.34A which makes for some nice Fire Power out the front
My plan was to use the copper pill and a new driver to get rid of the blinkey modes.

I like the Gray color just to have something other than black.
If they had red or blue I would have 6 of each

Great light for the price and fast shipping from US warehouse

TMART has this on deal now:
