P60s are usually around 24,9mm, give or take. So the head opening needs to be smaller than those if you want a simple and nice fit. Not larger than P60 sized.
The star is custom made by member Dsche. He has a thread about it: https://budgetlightforum.com/t/-/22412
The optic is a Carclo optic, available in many places, bought mine at Conrad.nl
Racer: I have of course looked around for hosts too, there's not many, another host that I l found (and bought) is the Fandyfire P03. I'm on my phone now, I will post some dimensions tonight.
Wow, I was wondering the same thing with those quad MCPCB’s. I was hoping to find a way to get the lens into something smaller in diameter than a Solarforce /P60 format. Needless to say I’ll be following this thread.
I found this I hope it has a momentary switch! Then it could use the STAR firmware with strobe and other niceties. Quad XPG2, FET driver with STAR firmware, 26650 battery. Would make a nice camp light.
That looked so nice, then boom, non anodized tailcap threads.
Comfychair has a post showing how to make an adapter ring to fit smaller optics into bigger heads. It should be doable with a drill press. I have a milling bit in the mail, so I'll be giving that a try soon.
On the UF-T50 & 'PH-08' clones, the bezel thread ID is 26.3mm, bezel front opening is 23mm.
Roche F6 uses a 24mm lens. The bezel opening is small (~20mm) though that can be enlarged. Great quality on those as a host. Not much space in the driver compartment, it would have to use the stock driver or a dedicated redesign of the BLF-20DD.
I’m losing my mind, Wight! Thanks, Comfychair, I am subscribed to that one you posted as well. They say the mind is the second thing to go. Now if I could just remember what was first to go…
