STARTED: GBGB: Stainless steel AAA clicky with a clip (CQG S1 "clone")

Do they have On the Road version instead? SingFire is crap.

1 maybe 2

Eh? At least my samples of SingFire are as good as original CQGs. Possibly even coming from the same factory?

And some answers to questions posted above (and in PMs):

1. Does it really support 10440?

Yes, this light works well both with AAA (Alkaline, NiMH, Lithium, ~1.5V) and 10440 (Li-Ion, 3.7V)

2. Crappy Chinese Emitter?

No. Definitely CREE XP-E, cool white in my samples. Tint is very clear cool white, not green at all.

3. Lumens?

10440: ~140lm initial, ~110lm OTF after 30s (heats up quite fast -> heat sag)

Alkaline AAA: ~40lm OTF after 30s (not much heat sag, pretty much the same with NiMH & Lithium)

4. Current draw?

TC currents in my tests were:

10440: ~1.2A

AAA: 0.5-0.6A

5. Measurements?

11.9mm × 88.3mm

6. Access to pill? No separate head section?

Opens only at tail cap, no idea (yet) how to take off the pill. Same as in original CQG.

Opens at the bezel, pill can be taken away from there. See a separate post for details / photos.

7. GITD bezel O-ring?

Clear O-ring. Not GITD.

8. Clip can be removed without scratching the light?

At least I can remove it without major scratches. Small scratches might occur.

9. How easily would these accidentally click on etc in a pocket with the protruding switch?

Not easily. The switch is positioned so that it's impossible to turn the light on by pressing the tail to floor, but it clicks on easily a short distance after the body boundary.

10. Beamshot?

Still too bright here for real beamshots, see this photo taken at about 2am:

..so this comparison to NW CQG v1 will do:

Did I catch all the questions? Any more questions? :)

Price is stupidly cheap for a light. Im in just because.

Oh, 1. 2.

Thanks the for info. I am in for one.

The pill can be accessed / taken away by unscrewing the bezel. All these parts literally fall off the light after that:

Driver side of the pill:

..and emitter side:

So how many of these will end up with XP-L?

I think the reflector opening is too small for the dome of XP-L. But the reflector is aluminum, so maybe it could be machined to accept XP-L?

From what Ive read, drill baby drill.

I’m in for one, Thanks.

in for 2

In for 2 but nw if possible

Hey all, I’m new, but I’m definitely in for 2.

In for one, thanks.

By my count—we are almost there—just 2 more needed!

One for me too then…

I’m in for one

in for one
thanks

one NW for me please :)

Hmm, If that is the case, I will get 2 to try out.
