(Sold) Solar Storm Warrior 4,000 lumens and 100kcd De-Domed XM-L2's

Up for sale today is my Solar Storm Warrior. The driver has been modded to put out 4,000 lumens. The XML-T6 emitters were swapped out for De-Domed XM-L2 emitters on Sinkpads. The tailcap has had a spring mod done as well. The light is in mint condition. There is not a scratch on it anywhere and the lens and reflector are also perfect. It’s going over 100kcd with a very nice clean hotspot. This of course has the dimming driver and it goes from 500 lumens all the way up to 4,000 and anywhere in between. The battery lights work as well.

This light turned out fantastic. The tint is a perfect neutral, it’s got flood and throw in a smaller package than a sky ray king.

It comes with it’s original solarstorm warrior box with the padding inside and the lanyard and extra O-ring. The instructions are there too but they are in Chinese.

$65 shipping is free in the US

$60 plus actual shipping for anyone else.

As usual first PM gets this light.

Just curious, does it dim down to low when the head hits around 60 degree Celsius?

I don’t know how hot it got but I ran it until it was burning my hand and it didn’t go down to low. Does yours do that when it gets hot? Is it supposed to do that?

I just ran it again and got it really hot and it didn’t go to low.

Mine goes down to low, but kinda freezes. Not sure if it is overheat protection, but it seems like it to me. I wrote a little bit out it in my mod thread.

Its a nice light once modded. I think the buyer will be very happy with it. :)

It probably is and maybe I just haven’t gotten mine hot enough. I’m always a little cautious letting these get too hot after my wife left one on and melted the plastic wrappers off my batteries. That scarred me a bit.

This is the third one of these I modded and I agree they are really nice once modded. Really kinda nice stock, just not bright enough. >)

I’ll take it. PM incoming.

Thanks,
Mike

What mods did you do to this little monster’s driver?? I happen to have a Warrior with a driver out that’s been sitting around for months.

Hey Johnny RaceR86 did a good picture filled post on how to do it. I’ll add a post on TFF in a bit. But basically you just jump the three resistors. I think they are R200 or something like that. Anyway, you jump those three and add heavy wire and along with the spring mod it cranks. I really suggest doing the de-dome as well. This light is perfect for that. Some of the SRK’s are nice with it as well but the Warrior gets a perfect tight hotspot.

I did one for blu8balls and also sold one to Ricflair a while back. I thought about posting the mod but I wasn’t sure how many people wanted to mess with a dimming driver. If you mess it up it’s pretty hard to replace.

What I’m wondering is if that one you have with the 6 18650’s has a similar driver. If you get a chance pull that one out too. That would be a very cool light to pump up the amps on. If it’s a modable driver I’m going to have to get a couple of them too.

Awesome stuff, bud. Thanks!

I don't have that one you are talking about but I know the one you mean. If it's 2S3P it might make for a good triple MTG2 mod. :D
